09’ outback awd problem

Last year my outback started making a “growling “ sound, coming from the front(ish) . Lewder the faster and didn’t stop when in neutral. Was more pronounced when turning left? Eventually awd warning light went on, a couple of days later rear drive-shaft failed. Had that replaced, diagnosis code indicated that the awd drive warning was because front left speed sensor had failed. Reminder warning light came on weeks after the growl started. 6 months later growl is back? ( probably a coincidence, but there is a lot more break dust on right wheel than left?) Anyone have any thoughts?

It's hard for us to diagnose noises remotely, but your symptoms do resemble some kind of wheel bearing problem. I don't think the car's PCM would throw a code for a bad driveshaft, so that's probably not in play here.

Are you running all tires the same size and same wear pattern?
