I Have A 2003 Dodge Dakota 3.9l Engine w/Auto Trans And Cruise Control

I had A trans Mount put on and Had gaskets for the Lifter covers put on, now my cruise control isn't working
properly when cruise switch on steering wheel is pushed the cruise light comes on, but when you push the set
button at the desired speed, nothing happens?

Well that sounds like either just a fluke coincidence or a mechanic's oversight, since you probably have to disconnect some of the cruise control mechanism to do the valve cover gaskets. Perhaps a connector was not put back in place, or a fuse blown? Also, it's possible that a speed sensor comes off the transmission housing, so that's another possible point of disconnect. I can't say without the vehicle in front of me but it does sound that the two events are connected.
