CX-5 GT Sell price 31,000 400/month 36x Residual 18200. Very new to this process trading in my mazda 6 05 they are giving me 1500 for it. Can they lower or raise the Residual? would that be worse for me or is it best to lower sell price?

The residual is fixed at a percentage of MSRP. The dealer can't alter it.
Money factors can be marked up for extra profit.

Yes, you want to negotiate as low a selling price as possible.

    What ZIP?

    What is the MSRP?

    36/10?
    .00001 MF and 57% residual

If that's your adjusted CAP, I get $361/mo+tax

Your $1500 upfront is probably just enough to cover 1st payment, $595 acquisition fee and dealer/DMV fees.

    I'd want a bigger discount
Verify the term/mileage allowance you've been given.

Seems like with the $1500 equity from your vehicle, you should be able to knock $30-$50 off that monthly
