No Sound

Hello,

I usually fix all my issues with my car and this one I really don't know what to do.

I got in the car as usual and I went to turn on the radio. The sound was on and ok and randomly out of no where all audio just stopped coming out of the speakers. NO AUDIO not the blinker tick sound or the ding sound when the door opens. It makes no sound what so ever.

I checked a few fuses that said: RDO and AMP but all looked ok. I looked at the BOSE amplifier and did not see a fuse on it. Is it hidden under the wires?

What should I do to diagnose this problem?

The amp might have an inline fuse, yes. If the deck lights up, and the speakers are dead, you would have to suspect the amp or the speaker plug in connectors. Can you jiggle or R&R the connectors that plug into the side of the amp? You can buy used replacement amps on eBay for around $80 bucks or so.

Is there a way to trouble shoot to be sure its the amp before buying a new/used one? I read a post online that someone had the same problem and got a new amp and didn't fix the problem BUT most people say it does fix the problem.

Well this is one of those perplexing problems. If you take out the amp and have it bench tested by an audio shop, then you're in for the bench fee, which might be $60 or so. If you just take a wild guess and swap out the amps, and you're wrong, you're out $80-90. So bottom line you'd need the skills to test the amp yourself, or go online and learn how to test one.

HERE's one set of tests----I thouight suggestion #4 was useful.
