Regular or AWD Minivan?

Would like to purchase a new minivan. Prefer Honda. Problem: Lived in FL entire life, want to retire in TN, not in but near the mountains (Knoxville area), and I'm concerned about winter driving. Apparently only Toyota offers an AWD minivan. Question: How important would it be to have the AWD in TN? If the Honda was chosen, would a different set of tires be required for winter? I live four hours north of Knoxville, and over 75% of the cars here are 2WD, and get by just fine with all-season tires. Don't let anyone scare you into needing AWD in Tennessee, unless you live on a dirt/gravel road in the Smokies.
