It appears I have a blown speaker on my '03 Aviator.

There is a loud crackling sound coming out of the speakers, I think, on my 03 Aviator. The radio works very intermittently. The crackling sound comes out out whether the radio is on or off, volume up or down. It's very loud. Any suggestions?
