Hard to shift into first?

So I bought a 04 g35 (only 126,000) with a stage 2 clutch (put in about 2k miles) and a lightend flywheel. I’ve noticed that when I compress the clutch and shift into first it takes some force to get it into 1st gear. If I keep the clutch compressed I can shift from 1st to neutral then back to 1st with no issue. Once I release the clutch and compress it again 1st gear requires the same pressure again. Any help would be great!!!

Hard to say with that aftermarket clutch--it's possible the clutch and flywheel mods are preventing full clutch disengagement. On the other hand, it could also be a simple linkage fix, like worn bushings.

What might happen if you pumped the clutch several times before putting it in 1st?

I’ll try that when I get back to the car. Another thing I forgot to add is it’s only first. All the other gears flow smoothly and I haven’t heard or felt any grinding.
