    Regarding Subarus- right now I have bought a 2019 Subaru Impreza with the CVT transmission. Right now after 1000 miles I am only getting 24.5 mpg combined city/highway driving. It's winter and I live in Denver. Can I expect better mpg as time goes on? Mileage as well as safety is very important to me.

    Be patient and let the engine break in. Your mileage should improve after 5000 miles or so. Also, the winter blend of gas in CO doesn't return as good of mileage.
