Grand Am Turn signal/hazard light switch

I have a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am. It has developed the habit of when the indicator lamp or hazard light is turned off, it will continue to click, often for a minute or two. It will click at the same speed as if one of the lamps was burned out, which they aren’t. I have researched this issue and have found 2 potential solutions. Either tear into the steering column and clean/replace something in there, or tear into the space behind and above the radio and replace something there. I would like to know which is more likely to solve my problem before I attempt either.

The link to the video was on this search site and I see one of the comments says to be sure to read the comments below the video about things to keep in mind while doing it that aren't fully covered in the video.
Also I notice on the page that linked to the video one person said to replace both the turn signal and hazard switch with parts from online source on ebay. Myself I like rockauto.com to determine part numbers and so on. But price comparing may be good.
Might be easier to replace if cleaning the contact doesn't help.
Good luck.
