Car dealer - Can you negotiate lower price after you have got a pre-approved check from bank?

Weird one. Going Saturday to Georgia to buy used car. My bank is going to give me a check for the amount including tax, fee etc. my question is - is it common or possible to negotiate cheaper price if the check is for more? How does that work?

I don't know... seems like that would be a problem.

If you already have a check made out for the full amount, and I'm the dealer? I'm not budging. And, they might be worried about bank fraud, if it looks like you've borrowed the full amount of the check, but you want some money back from it.
