Co-signing for car in another state

My daughter is moving from Ohio to Vegas very soon and will need a new car before moving. As she has poor credit, I've offered to co-sign for her to get a nice used SUV. Other than flying to Ohio to go car shopping with her, is there an easier way for me to accomplish a co-sign situation? She will be trading in her paid-off car and I will be providing a down-payment as well.

Most financial institutions (or, a dealer, as their agent) would be unlikely to allow a co-signer who doesn't show up to sign. It seems that would be inviting fraud. Maybe, once she picks something out, you could call the F&I manager to see what could be done. If you are providing the down payment on a valid credit card, that might help it along.

But, if she has poor credit, a trip East to help her shop might be a good idea, in any case.
