Is it common to have some burned smell for a brand new BMW 5 series 2019?

I bought recently a 530i BMW 2019 and we have noticed a burned smell that comes out from the engine. I am not sure what has caused this. We have very decent temperature in around 85 F. So I don't think the temperature is too high for twin turbos.

Any pointer is appreciated. Since it is brand new car I am just concern is it due to some manufacturing issue or is it something I am missing here?

There is a compound called "Cosmoline" that is applied to the engine after it leaves the factory. I believe it is to preserve the parts during shipment.

This is likely what you smell. It is normal and should completely burn off in a few days.

Just test drove an M550i and there was definitely a burnt smell which the salesperson dismissed as breaking in the brakes.
