Thank you! I was quoted .00185 and was told that the MF is based on credit score. How is the MF determined?

BMWFS allows dealers to markup the rate by .00040 for extra profit.

So, they were correct. That rate isn't dependent on your credit score, just the dealer getting into your pocket for another $30/month

(if you had bad credit, the base rate would go up, as well)

Insist on the base rate. Expect pushback.

Thank you. He seemed surprised that I asked/questioned the MF. He wanted to know where I got the MF from and what I wanted my monthly payment to be.

    Yeah, dealers love uninformed customers.

Quick question, how do I push back on the MF to get .00145 when the dealer is quoting a higher rate? In other words how would I know the rate and residual value outside this forum?

Residuals can't be altered, so you can ask any dealer for the correct residual.

The base rate for all BMW models is .00145 MF, nationwide. It might be confidential information, but it is widely known. Just tell the dealer you won't sign, unless you get the base (or buy) rate. They might play dumb, but it isn't a big secret.
