Electronics and engine shut off

the one thing I absolutely HATE about my new X3 is when I pull the car into my garage and shut off the engine, the electronics all stay on for 15 min, unless they are “manually” shut off either by hitting the radio button, or locking the car. I don’t lock my car in my closed garage, and if I have my hands full, or in a rush, I don’t remember to hit the radio button. WHAT is the purpose of this feature? Why not have everything shut off when the engine shuts off? I don’t get it.

Push the stop/start button a 2nd time, with your foot off the brake, and everything will shut down
