Trade in leased car for another lease?

Hi,

I'm currently leasing a 3 series, and I'm thinking about changing my 3 series to a X3. I know BMW has some sort of pull ahead program that allows you return the car 3 months early if you lease another car from BMW. However, I still got 1+ yrs to go on my current lease.

I'm wondering if it is possible to change my current lease to lease another BMW car in my case.

Is there anyway (or is it common) to "swap" the car on my lease w/o triggering too much penalty? Something like trading in my current lease first and then start another new one with BMW?

My advice would be to ride out your existing lease, as it will be very expensive to swap to a new lease with over one year left.
