Dealer's Maintenance plan

So dealer is arguing that per Honda it's mandatory to have maintenance checks every 6 months and he is offering maintenance package that's mostly discounts of 10-50% with some handful complete oil, lube, filter change and few multi-point inspection. He is offering this for $495 for the 3 year lease period. I had that package during my first lease and now wondering if it's worth it or even mandated by Honda to have that stuff done.

Are the handful of oil changes/lube/fluids and filter changes worth the $495 for 3 years? What if I have to do them without that package deal? Any body does them here?

You have to have your car serviced. If you know you'll keep the car for three years, and you know you'll use the dealer's service department, then the price is reasonable.

Even when I see ads of oil, lube and filter changes for $35 ? Because even if I make those changes every 6 months it barely reaches $200 total so wonder why the 495 package is reasonable?!

Your car will require more than oil changes in three years.

You aren't required to buy the package. If it worries you, just pay as you go.
