When is it a good time to buy and how much should I pay?

I'm considering financing a used car, due to this recent pandemic and speculation of a recession/depression, I might take advantage of the offers & deals to come (if any). My question is when is a good time to pull the trigger, what kind of offers & deals would there be, and how much can I negotiate off the asking price. I'm looking at CPO 2017 Jaguar F-pace S models, and on their website, the cheapest one is $39k for 22k miles.

Deals aren't as good as you might think, at the moment. Inventory is tight, and pricing information is all over the map, as auctions were shut down.

Given you are looking for a specific model and trim, you might consider a nationwide search.

Your right, it doesn't seem like many dealers are dropping their prices right now. But do you think they will eventually in the near future?

Also, on a regular day how much would you be able to negotiate off the asking price of a used car?

Sorry, my crystal ball is cloudy at the moment.

Negotiating used car prices is dependent on many factors, most of which are unknown. Just do your price research (Edmunds, KBB and other sites can provide guidelines on prices), and go in with an offer that makes sense to you.
