Looking into a lease for a Jeep Grand Cherokee in zip 20678. The one I like is here: https://www.princefrederickdodge.com/new-Prince+Frederick-2020-Jeep-Grand+Cherokee-Limited-1C4RJFBG4LC112286

Looking to get out of my current Durango lease from the same dealership 4 months early, and to slide into the Cherokee with no out of pocket money. I have watched a couple videos on youtube about this message board and how you can help point me in the right direction please??

If you leased the Durango, you can't be a rookie....

Nonetheless, why exit the Durango early? Those last 4 payments still have to be made, and there is a good chance the Jeep dealer will simply add them to the Grand Cherokee deal. You really don't want to pay for a car for the next three years that you aren't driving, do you?

Thanks - great input. Is there no way to exit the Durango lease without paying those last 4 payments? My rookie brain thought that if I guaranteed them another 39 month lease, they would take that business over me turning in the Durango in 4 months and walking away.... And yes, I am a rookie at learning how to do SMART leases! I got hosed on the Durango because I didn't ask people like you for help!

The contract you signed stipulated 39 payments, and that's what you'll owe the bank. Leases are not set up to provide equity to the lessee (you), and it's unlikely that the dealer will absorb them.

My advice is to wait until the Durango lease matures, then start shopping.
