Hi, Michael!
Hoping you can help us out with many questions re: leasing a new Subaru Limited Forester or staying w/ a Rav4 XLE, and possibly moving to an XLE Premium.
Here’s the current situation:
Husband is currently leasing a 2018 Rav4 XLE. The lease expires Jan 2021.
Current monthly payment: $330.00. 15k miles per year. 1K down payment.
Gross cap cost: $32,722.00 Adjusted cap cost: 29,472.00.

We’re doing our HW early, so, after test driving both 2020 Rav4 & Forester models, he's seriously thinking about moving to a Subaru.
As of this moment, we are in no hurry to get a new car, and are planning on waiting to do that closer to Thanksgiving or mid Dec. when the 2021’s are in.

Here’s our questions:
- Can one find out what the Residual Value (RV) of the car is before negotiating w/ the dealer?
How is that done?
Never found out the residual value of his current Rav4 because he didn’t know what it was.
- We read a lot about the Money Factor (MF) on this forum, but, have no idea how that factors into the lease. Can you clarify?
- On the forum, how can you tell someone the MF on a vehicle if you don’t know what their credit score is?

Here’s an example of a 2020 Forester Limited model we recently drove and really liked:
MSRP: $34,572.00
Invoice Price: 32,400.00

He prefers no down payment, and ideally, 15k miles.

How would we figure out RV and MF?

Our zip code is 03753 and his credit score is excellent.

FYI- we never talked price w/ our salesperson, nor did we even play the "sit in the chair game”, as he knew we were just trying to figure out which one my husband had a preference for a far as ride, room, price etc.
BTW-I have been a customer of this dealership and leased 3 Subarus over 6 years. My recent acquisition was a 2020 Outback in Feb.

Many thanks in advance for your help!

For RV and MF, you can ask us. There are dedicated lease threads for most every make and model; please post your questions there.

    Thanks for your suggestions!

That being said, what would be the RV and MF in NH (zip 03753) for a Forester Premium & Limited 36/12 & 36/15?
