lease question

I had made an agreement to lease a 2020 Honda Passport EX-L. As i was driving home I looked at the paperwork that I had only made a deposit on and it said it was a 2021 Honda Passport EX-L, I saw the sales guy put the SOLD sign on the car which was in the showroom.

I got a call 2 hours later from the salesman saying the manager realized he made a mistake and sold me the 2021 but the numbers we agreed on were for a 2020. They did not have any 2020's in black on the lot and what other colors would I be interested in.

So they made the deal knowing they did not have the car on the lot and just wanted to get me to sign the deal.

He said if I was to get the 2021 the payment would be $100 more a month as I leased because the 2021's do not have the same incentives as the 2020's.

Anyway my question is, Can I hold them to selling me the 2021? I have only put a deposit down as I was supposed to go back today to sign the rest of the paperwork.

What are my options?

I don't think you have any. You haven't taken delivery, so no deal has been completed.

If you were happy with the deal offered, let them find you the 2020 that you want. Otherwise, move on.

Thanks, that is what I ended up doing. Just went to another dealership
