Commonwealth Kia of MA advertised a price they would not honor, is that common practice?

Found a car, clicked on interested. Got an email from Edmunds with contact info.
Then I got a story about Edmunds being a 3rd party site and all amendments to the selling price is available at the dealership .... So the price advertised by the dealership on Edmunds is not the real price.

Not going to continue my search on Edmunds if this is common. Was using the web site to avoid this type of negotiation tactics.

Advertisements are not offers. Surely, this isn’t your first time shopping for a car?

Not involved with that part of Edmunds, but I’ll guess that is the same disclaimer you’ll see on every 3rd party website.

I wouldn’t trust the prices a dealer posts on their own website, either.

Yes, getting the same responses on Facebook especially about this particular dealership. Sounds like their common practice to get you in the door. That’s sad. And yes, it’s the first time I use Edmunds to shop for a car - chalk it up to COVID - trying to Avoid the long and brutal negation process in the showroom.
