Lease ending- return for new Ford lease

My Ford Escape lease is ending in 2 weeks. We are wanting to return the vehicle and get a new lease for a Ford Edge SEL.

1. Do I have to go back to the Ford dealership that I leased it from? Or can I go to a closer Ford dealership?
2. How does a trade in lease situation work?

1. You can go to any Ford dealer you'd like
2. If your lease has any equity (doubtful), you can trade it in like you would a car with a traditional loan. Generally, the best course of action is to simply turn in the lease and walk away.

Thank you! How would I know or check to see if I had any equity?

Also, could I bring this to another maker/dealer like Toyota? Or would I be better off just turning it in and starting a new lease?

Take your car to CarMax, or use the online services Vroom or Carvana to get an actual buy bid for your vehicle.
