Hello,

I am trying to purchase a car. I moved to VA and make an appt with the DMV but they are awfully booked up and the earliest I could get was end of February.

I cant buy the car with my current license because I need to register in VA, not DE.

Can't get through to DMV via phone, Twitter of Facebook.

Does anyone know a work around?

Does the DMV have a web site where you might get more information? What does the dealer suggest? Any chance of a temporary plate? It seems you can’t be the only one in this situation.

Have the car dealer give you a temporary plate that is valid until you can get in to the DMV

I'm guessing the dealer won't sell them a car to a VA address, without a VA driver's license. Not a matter of getting a tag for a car they already have.

Then I’d register it where my license is valid and deal with the switch to another state later
