Trying to lease a Lincoln Corsair in Massachusetts

The problem I’m having is that I’ve now been to 2 Lincoln dealerships, and neither one could explain how the excise tax is calculated. When I lease a vehicle, I make sure I can replicate the dealer’s numbers. If I can’t, then I suspect they’re hiding something. Massachusetts law clearly stipulates how excise tax is calculated. But when I use the state formula, it never matches the dealer’s figures. Not even close. Clearly, the dealer is using a different formula. The problem is, they won’t tell me how their calculation works. When I inquire, the response from the dealer is literally, “I have no idea how it works.” Does anyone have any knowledge of how Lincoln calculates excise tax on leases?

That has nothing to do with Lincoln. The dealer doesn't know, because they input numbers into their program, and it gives them the amount. I doubt you'll get a better explanation from the dealer.
