Scarce Outback Base models?

Are base model Outbacks generally scarce? We usually see a single white or silver (rarely any dark colors, never any blue); I'm sure the upper trims are the moneymakers, but seems lately a base model can't be found. Similar for Forester and Crosstrek, but not as extreme as Outback, i.e., one on-lot, and none on allocation.

For Subaru, the difference in price from Base to the next level up (Premium) is very negligible. For some, a base model is must for cost concerns but also they aren't too popular which is why you don't see to much of them around. The beauty with Subaru if a particular model cannot be located or isn't in transit, you can factory order one in your color of choice and just wait for it to arrive.
