2021 forester - first time leasing advice?

Hi, i'm looking at leasing a 2021 forester and was wondering if it's ever worth putting a down payment on a lease (say around 1500)? I've read some articles online and it sounds like the general consensus is no, but what if it's around a $50 difference every month where if I put the down payment, instead of paying for example 350 a month, I would be paying 300 instead? I was wondering what people typically do - 0 down sounds great, but just trying to understand where the down payment makes sense and where it doesn't.

First time leaser looking for advice thanks

We never recommend putting a down payment on a lease - it's like pre-paying rent on an apartment.

The total cost of the lease doesn't change, but, in the unfortunate event that the car is stolen or totaled during the lease, you lose that up front money.

Thanks Michael! This definitely helps out things into perspective I’ll make sure to stick with the 0 down then. Thanks a lot!
