Purchasing Lease Questions

Hi. I am going to purchase my Rav4 hybrid lease. I wanted to ask a few questions.

- Is there any negotiating I can do? Any advice?
- Can I finance a lease I am purchasing?
- Can I take advantage of 0% financing offers on a lease I am purchasing?

Thank you for any help. I appreciate your assistance.

    1) Unlikely. You definitely can't negotiate with the bank.
    2) The leasing bank is not obligated to finance your purchase. Also, they have little incentive to offer you a good rate. Plan on obtaining financing on your own.
    3) No

What do you mean by financing on my own, like through a bank?

    Yes, bank or credit union

The toyota financial site say you can contact the dealer you got the lease from and they can give you financing options. I guess I am asking for advice if I intend to do that, before I go there and get swindled because I do not know anything about the process or what can be negotiated. Thanks for any advice.

I'd have my own financing lined up, and then you can compare rates, and possibly the dealer will compete with those rates (though it might not be with TFS). Dealers have access to a lot of lenders and can offer competitive rates, but you might have to force their hand with your own competition.

I see, thank you. Also, it says I am going to have to pay "official fees and taxes." What kind of fees should I actually pay? What should I watch out for?

If you have to go through the dealer to purchase, you can expect them to add a big fee (depending on where you live). And, like any other purchase, you'll have title and registration costs from your state, plus sales tax.
