Electric Vehicle - Buy now or wait

I currently own a 2014 MKZ that's getting between 30-34MPG real world. It has 95K on the clock. I currently drive 60+ miles a day to & from work. I'm thinking about retiring by year's end. We also hope to move to a more urban area soon.
With that as prologue, should I wait to get an electric or bite the bullet? So far, the VW id4 is the nicest electric out there in my opinion. I also thinks it's a bit pricey.

Are you looking to replace the MKZ, either way?

What type of driving will you be doing once you retire? Any long road trips planned?

With all the changes coming your way, I'd wait until I was settled in my new location and retired, then see what makes sense at that time.
