Question about registration

Good day everyone,
I have a question about leasing and registration. I'm from TN and moving to VA this September. I'm planning to lease a car either in the DMV area or maybe even NJ or PA. Since I probably won't get a VA license right away can I lease a car using my TN license? I know VA registration needs a VA license but I need a car as soon as possible so I'm planning to sign on a lease 1st week of September.

You'll have to register the car where you live. I'd work out some way to get a new license, before leasing the vehicle.

There are sales tax implications if you register in TN, then move to VA.

Thanks, I do have an appointment with VA DMV on 9/11 but I'm not sure how soon I'll get my license. Looks like I'll be using Lyft/Uber for a few weeks.
