Dealership offering early upgrade

I leased a 2020 VW Atlas in the fall of 2019. For the past 3 months, my dealer has been sending me marketing letters inviting me to turn the lease in early and start a new model of the same vehicle for about the same lease price, and no other early lease return fees. There are 18 payments remaining on my lease.

Does anyone know why a dealer would want to do this? Should I explore this?

I was thinking that this might be because of a shortage of pre-owned vehicles, but I’m curious if there are better explanations.

Thank you!

It's marketing. The dealer makes money on every transaction. No transactions, no money. Let them run the numbers, and see if it makes sense for you.
