    but from a leasse perspective, if you buy it out at the end, you are only a few thousand off from buying up front?

    I'll give you an example. My doctor was looking to get a Mercedes E350 for his wife. We calculated the lease payment for 3 years to be higher than a traditional finance payment for 5 years.

    With a lease, you're paying for 60% of the depreciation is those first 39 or 48 months, and nothing to show for it at the end of the term - and, you'll have to finance the balance at whatever APR is the going rate at that time.
