Here in So. CT- Citgo 87 $165.9, 89 is $1.73.9 and super premium is $1.79.9. These prices have been dropping, but not fast enough considering that the tankers come right into the harbor here so there's NO long distance delivery! Just a RIPOFF!!!!!!!!
Our Citgo dropped the price for 87 down to $1.39 and here's hoping for a further reduction soon. Fastdriver, I used to spend time in Clinton CT., you anywhere around there?
Denver and Seattle average is $2.00 a gallon. Anaheim is about $1.75 to $1.86 a gallon. Barstow California ranges $1.55 to $1.75 a gallon. St George, Utah: $1.36 a gallon. (all 87 octane).
This was a first around here! So. CT- newly re-modeled CITGO gas station was having a sale today! $1.29 for 87 octane. $1.39 for 89 and $1.49 for premium 93. I still had a 1/4 of a tank, but I filled up anyway. These prices won't last long around here!
After a temporary respite, prices in Paradise have regained the top spot. According to the latest news reports, the rest of the country has generally had a reduction in average prices, while premium here has now reached $2.119 for self-serve at some downtown Honolulu stations, higher than a lot of suburban areas.
Costco has reduced 92 premium to $1.959, matching the local Aloha brand at my neighborhood Island Mini-Mart. No one else is under $2.00. I haven't seen Tesoro's weekly promotion of "any grade, same price" lately. Last one about three weeks ago was $1.839/gallon.
Milk is more expensive than gas. Price clubs are $3.49/gallon for the local stuff; close to $5.00 at supermarkets unless there's a "special."
Citgo had 87 regular for $1.34 on thursday and it's probaly a little lower now. Strange stuff going on lately but am very happy. Going back to North Carolina next weekend and hope to find the $1.06 87 regular in South Carolina again.
Same ol' Sunoco truck stop, Palisades Park NJ - hold on to your hats:
87 - $1.469 - down 10 cents, down 15 in 4 weeks 89 - $1.569 - down 10 cents, down 15 in 4 weeks 93 - $1.649 - down 11 cents, down 15 in 4 weeks 94 - $1.699 - down 10 cents, down 14 in 4 weeks diesel - $1.299 - down 2 cents, down 8 in 4 weeks
Just paid $1.329 for 87 octane and the price has remainded the same all week. Last weekend in southern GA paid $1.12 which felt real nice! How weird is that, my have times changed. Paid $.33 back in high school in the late 60's so I guess an extra $ per gallon 32 years later isn't that bad, everything's relative!
I took a road trip from San Antonio to San Diego the last week of July. (all prices for 87 octane)We paid $1.14 in S.A. and in Las Cruces. $1.35 in the rest of New Mexico and $1.45 in Arizona. In San Diego I paid $1.75. We loved the city, but I'm glad I only had to buy one tank of gas there. The price dropped 30 cents just by crossing the border.
Not really. We are $.15+ a gallon higher than in L.A. My mom told me that regular was around $1.259 in Fresno. That is in the central valley. From what I hear the bay area is worse!
How do these gasoline wholesalers get away with it? I just paid $1.10 for 87 octane at Sam's here in San Antonio. On the way I ran some errands and saw Exxon and Racetrack at $1.27 and Stop n Go and Coastal at $1.19. Quite a range of prices in a small area.
Bill PS: Sam's in Orlando, (West Colonial Drive/Hwy 50 near Ocoee) which buys their gas from Mobil, has regular at $1.19 (IIRC..) and I paid $1.369 for 93 octane (Up from $1.349 2 weeks ago.. they're higher than most gas stations on cigs tho.. go figure)
Sunoco truck stop, Palisades Park, NJ - price compared to July 27
87 - $1.429 - down 4 cents, down 19 in 6 weeks 89 - $1.539 - down 3 cents, down 18 in 6 weeks 93 - $1.619 - down 3 cents, down 18 in 5 weeks 94 - $1.669 - down 3 cents, down 17 in 6 weeks diesel - $1.299 - unchanged, down 8 in 6 weeks
When I lived in Alpine there was one Gas station in town.
On Closter Dock Rd IIRC.. They sold pretty much CAM 2 Only.. Like $2.50+/Gal.
Only cars I ever saw getting fuel there were exotics... Still doesnt beat the time I saw a guy in a Countach pull up behind me at a gas station on 9W (Right by where it splits off into Lemoine ave).
I'm filling my car with 93. HE WAS FILLING HIS WITH REGULAR!
That Cam 2 station is still on CDR - I know exactly which one you're talking about. Next time I'm up there, I'll eyeball the pumps and see what they're charging these days.
And I saw plenty of stuff on 9W - my old office was just across 9W and down a side street from the old Prentice-Hall building. The Ferrari building is still over there - now THAT is a place with serious security. Our FedEx courier told us she went in there with a trainee during her regular rounds and she got the MAJOR third degree as to why she wasn't alone, and who was this person...
"Chicago gas has risen over 15 cents, with some stations rising over 20 cents, in less than two weeks."
1.549 at Meijer 1.599 at Amoco (1.649 and 1.699 for higher grades) 1.639 at Citgo 1.679 at Shell (What are they smoking?)
What really grinds my gears is that there was a refinery fire here a couple days ago... at a Citgo refinery. The news media is screaming about how that will affect gas prices...
I live in Madison, Wisconsin and we too are being affected by the Chicago refinery fire. Mykem, you said that gas price went up 15 to 20 cents over the past two weeks in your market.
That's nothing.
Our local news stations ran that refinery story, hyped the devastating impact it will have on midwestern fuel supplies and - presto - an immediate 25 cent increase in gasoline prices. I couldn't believe it. One day! ONE DAY - and the gas prices went up 25 cents. Premium at the local Mobile station is now selling for $2.15 a gallon. Unreal.
Michigan stations were all between 1.49 and 1.59 for regular. Most highway off-ramp stations were at 1.55.
Indiana highway signs all had prices in the 1.60-1.67 range. Where I finally pulled off because of a restroom break and just being tired of sitting in construction, the station was selling at 1.49.
Sunoco truck stop, Palisades Park, NJ - price compared to Augist 13
87 - $1.379 - down 5 cents, down 24 in 8 weeks 89 - $1.479 - down 6 cents, down 24 in 8 weeks 93 - $1.559 - down 6 cents, down 24 in 8 weeks 94 - $1.619 - down 5 cents, down 22 in 8 weeks diesel - $1.299 - unchanged

Not far away- about 20 minutes south of there. I used to have a house in Tamarac and also Lake Worth. I love FL especially in the winter!

Premium is the only grade that ever got over $2.00 here (thankfully).

Luckily I don't go there. Now I almost always go to Meijer, since they don't seem to gouge the consumer (as much) like the 'Big Guys' do.

The cities along US Route 34 going west from Aurora are -- Yorkville (10 miles) and Plano (16 miles).
Would you drive 20 miles round trip to save 20 cents per gallon?

My local QT is now selling 87 octane for $1.44 a gallon. It has been this way for about a week.
We had a small increase in gas prices when OPEC announced they would be cutting back production in September. Then we had this larger price hike.
I bet oil companies would blame the price hike on this reduction in supplies even though it has not taken place yet.

Nickel here, dime there. About up 30 cents in two weeks if I recall correctly.
(it was 1.65 on the 18th of August).

87 octane=199.9 at Clark
92 octane=220.9 at Speedway (put $40 and change in the brother's Blazer just today, fortunately on his dime)
Next car I think will be a Japanese 5 speed, can't deal with this fluctuation BS. Gas was $1.50 like 6 weeks ago.
88.5 Octane - $1.70
90 Octane - $1.80
Diesel - $1.55
