Hi! So I currently lease a bmw 5 series and have been with bmw for 9 years. Sadly I cannot afford bmws anymore as they are out of my price range. I began looking at other brands and always loved Jeep and began inquiring with Jeep dealerships near me. One of the dealers was adamant about getting me the best deal and getting back to me quickly, so quickly he was able to find a 4xe for 627 a month with 3k down and I found it a bit high so I told him I needed a moment to look into my options. I was kinda sold but not really so I waited for a few hours, clearly he was trying to sell me quickly so he said rebates were ending and he needed my license and for me to call my insurance to get the car added to my policy. I did as I thought it was an okay deal, the I’d cards and binder was sent over to him then he called the banks and got me approved as I had excellent credit. He had never sent me anything to sign nor did I make any payments or down payments. I also do not have the car. However today I asked for him to send me the price breakdown so I could understand and he sends me the 1st page of the bill of sale. Am I contractually obligated or can I walk away as I found his entire process a mess. Would appreciate anyone’s advice.

If you haven't signed a contract or taken delivery of the car, you can talk to the dealer and tell them you've changed your mind.

Sounds pretty shady to me. I had a similar problem when a salesman was trying to get me to buy an extended warranty. He wouldn’t let me take the contract home to review and when I asked him for at least the exclusions page he tore off a random page that didn’t list the exclusions. He acted very hurt when I told him I wouldn’t be buying his EW.

Is this dealership close enough to make a visit to get this cleared up in person? Maybe it’s just a screw up in the office getting paperwork out in the mail. If you E signed something you might have a problem but even then if they didn’t deliver the car you should be able to cancel.
