Last minute damage to returning lease.

I basically made a deal on a new lease that will be picked up Saturday with the lease return inspection being Friday. Just incase some are wondering why I don’t use insurance.

What’s the most someone has been charged for having some damage on their lease return? Just my luck a decent size branch landed on my hood and being the F150 hood is aluminum it dents pretty easy. Have to return the truck on Saturday so my time window is so short. So if anyone has experience with being charged with any brand but I have a Ford. Also is there a way to kind of negotiate with the bank?

I don't know about most, but I can relay my last lease return experience of my 2016 Jetta. About a month or so before the lease was up, my passenger front door was dented pretty significantly by a wayward rock (don't ask how it happened).

When I had the inspection done, a couple of weeks before turn in, the inspector said not to worry about it and it didn't cost me anything.

It all depends on what the inspector says. But, if it needs to be repaired, I'll guess the out of pocket cost would be higher than the deductible on your insurance. Once you get the inspection report, you can call the bank and find out what your options are.

it also seems to depend on if you are leasing a same brand replacement. That tends to buy some leniency. as does, I assume, having equity to dealer is scarfing up.
