Lease End Leverage?

I am approaching the end of my lease '21 BMW X3 M40i. I would like to purchase a used Lexus GX460. If there is a spread between my buyout and the current pricing of '21 X3 M40i's comparably equipped and with similar miles.... can I leverage that equity toward the purchase of a used GX on a dealer's lot for the access to my BMW at its contract's maturity? I realize I wouldn't get 100% of the equity, but it seems to be a solid offer for a dealership to acquire a desirable lease-end vehicle AND move a used unit sitting on their lot. Thoughts?

An unaffiliated dealer's payoff could be different from your payoff. Only you have no way to know what it might be.

You can try trading it, and see what they come up with.

An X3 is not a vehicle that usually has any equity at lease end, though anything is possible.

I'm seeing similar vehicles priced just north of 40k and my buyoout is 33k. I'm thinking if I can find the vehicle I want at a couple different BMW dealerships, then they have a dual interest in competing for my business - they move a unit currently on their lot while also taking in a vehicle they can move. Any wisdom there?

Yeah, you'll do better at a BMW dealer, but what is the chance they'll have a specific non-BMW vehicle?

They are a member of an Auto group that sells several different makes at different dealerships. I have identified a particular used vehicle at one of their dealerships. Make more sense now? apologies for lack of detail

Yeah, but don't be surprised if that doesn't work out. UCMs aren't likely to just give up a unit to another store, even in the same group.
