Need help with a used Genesis G80

Hello, active people on the forum,

I'm in the market to buy a car and i came across this used genesis g80 2023 model with real LOW miles(less than 3000). the only thing that's concerning is the vehicle Carfax shows it as a manufacturer vehicle that is sold at an auto auction in California and that its not a lemon buyback and it has been registered in California prior to the auction , which is bought by a Hyundai Genesis dealer and not an exclusive genesis dealer i called and asked them to certify it as CPO but they said they can't do it, i assumed since they are not an exclusive genesis dealer they couldn't do it.!

so I'm thinking of getting a PPI(Pre purchase inspection) and ask the guys to check everything that a CPO checklist has for a genesis used vehicle to certify it as a CPO and go ahead with the sale.! FYI the car has been sitting in the dealer lot for about a year now... maybe if everything looks good i might even get a good deal on the vehicle.!

anything i should be concerned about? and any pointers that i should absolutely ask the dealership and know before buying the vehicle.! any help is much appreciated.

i just don't want to put in a ton of money and regret it.! for the price of this car i could probably get a new camry and that too a 2025 model, but i'm in love with genesis and their vehicles, so want your inputs before i go ahead with this.

Thanks.

What is the existing factory warranty that's left on it? Mileage and/or years?

Most corporate vehicles go through a dealer only auction. That part isn't weird

its a 2023 model and registered in nov 2022, so i assume the rest of the 5yr/60,000 factory warranty i'm assuming. its also got a 10yr/100,000 miles warranty for powertrain on new cars. but not sure if it stays the same when it is bought as a used car.! it has a 2400 miles on it .!

I’d guess the 10 yr warranty is gone. Still, plenty of base warranty left.
But, that’s something you should find out.

Treat it like any other used car, and verify the warranty. Make sure it’s had an oil change, since it’s nearly two years old. Make sure the PPI includes looking for accident damage
