Dealer swaps & Deals

I got a lease quote from a dealership A that has the car with my preferences.

Another dealership I had gone to when shopping, Dealership B, reached out and said they found a match for what I want and can get it. That car being the same one from dealership A.

Question: would dealership B even be able to work a better deal if they are having to get the car from dealership A?

Should I reply and give the quote details from dealership A and say if you can beat this price then yes ?

Thanks in advance.

Dealership B won't have any lower costs than dealership A. Once you've tried to make a deal with dealership A, they likely won't let that car go. Also, many dealers won't trade with local competitors. Only with dealers in another market.

Go to dealership A and try to get your best deal.

Found another car with same specs that’ll do, ~500 miles away. Planning on calling and saying I have a quote for a similar car as yours, for 12% off msrp with base mf. Can you beat it. 1) is that the right approach/wording and 2) if they ask to see it, do I show? Do I blackout details of which dealership or vin or anything?

First timer. No clue how this quote battle game works lol and what should or should not be said/shared

You likely won’t get any response, once the dealer realizes how far away you are. 🤷‍♂️

You can always try, and it doesn't hurt to share info about the other dealer/vehicle, but a lot of dealerships aren't keen to deal with a long-distance buyer who may or may not be serious, especially if they've seen local interest in the vehicle.
