Hello, I am looking at a 2019 Civic LX manual. 48,686 miles, zip code 95624.

VIN# 19XFC2E6XKE042504

Here is this listing

Here is the carfax

Here is what I pulled up for KBB

The dealer has it listed at $20,998. According to carfax it had a small accident to the front fender that must be minor because I dont see any damage in the pictures.

According to the carfax, it has had 2 owners, and it seems was traded in or sold at an Acura dealership (12/24/2024); then sold to a Nissan Dealership ?? (1/13/2025) then it shows up at the final Honda dealership 2/14/25.

My questions are the following:

Is there any idea or clue about why it was passed around between three dealerships in a short period of time?

2)The KBB value Im getting is between $15 - 16.5k so it seems like there is a very big mismatch or discrepancy between this and their listed sale price. I understand its a dealership so maybe add 1-2k to KBB but this seems very, very high. Any thoughts on why?

3) What do you guys think I could reasonably be able to negotiate with them for this vehicle?

This dealership is two hours away from me and I dont have a car so Im trying to get as much useful information as I can find before I go in.

Thank you so much for your help!

Yikes! $21k for a 6 year old car that had an original sticker of around $20k? I know used car prices are insane but this dealer is swinging for the fence. That might be the reason it’s been passed around, at that price it might have sat on the lot until one dealer gave up and sent it to auction where another dealer tried for a home run.

From my experience Honda dealers aren’t the most flexible on price. Instead of trying to figure what’s in the dealer’s mind why don’t you make an out the door offer that seems fair to you and move on if they won’t meet it? It all depends on how bad you want this particular car.

Also, sadly, most new car dealers aren't interested in a stick-shift.

Yah this is also why the price is so shocking to me, there is little demand for manual cars and from the other dealers Ive spoken with they just die on the lot. I really love this car though.

That could also be the reason for the high price. Manuals are so rare that enthusiasts might be willing to pay a premium.
