Insurance - repairs

Hello everyone,

I was in a small accident with some minor damages to my rear bumper. I got a quote from a reputable body shop. My insurance sent me a check (minus the deductible).

I took my car to a different body shop and they quoted a much lesser price to fix the bumper.

My question is, if I go to this body shop, will my insurance have any issues? Will they ask for proof of repairs and bills?

Thanks

I don’t think the insurance company will care since they already cut the check but I’d wonder why one shop is so much cheaper. You get what you pay for and you may be dissatisfied with the cheaper work.

The insurance company doesn't have to know, and if they cared, they wouldn't have written you a check.

In addition to the caveat above, make sure the body shop knows it isn't an insurance job.
