"I'm talking about everyone who ordered an SR5 with the PM Package all over the nation, not just the SE Region."
I wager to bet that SE region was not unique in being surprised about lack of heated seats when a SR5+PM finally rolled on their lots. Ignorance
of the misprint was the norm.
-------------------
"Come on...Look at the prices there are definitely going to be differences"
There are plenty of differnces that people are willing to pay extra for the Limited. At the same time there are lots of other people that the the xtra money spent is not a good value. You can be sure that people buying Limited in 2000 were not buying Limiteds because they thought "Oh the price differnce is due to the fact that there is a misprint in the brochure and you don't get heated seats with the SR5+PM."
------------------
"There needs to be consumer awareness too. You can't believe everything you read...You need to check it out"
Give me a break. The brochure says you get heated seats. The salesman says it. The car-buyer website says it. So what exactly are you asking us to do to "check it out" further??
If you compare the price of port added leather versus PM and its goodies there is a very logical
difference that is explained by the heated seats being in the PM package. Why on Gods green earth would we be EXPECTING a misprint??
---------------------
"You can't take the Limited out for a drive and expect that's what the SR5 is going to be like"
There is nothing to TEST DRIVE about a HEATING PAD!! A heating pad is a heating pad! You act like we were test driving a Yugo to see if we should purchase the Sequoia.
------------------------
"I also don't remember seeing leather side doors listed under the PM Package options in the brochure. So if it's not included in the description wouldn't you ask?"
I sit in a Limited and the door sides are leather. I sit in a SR5 with port added leather and it has leather sides. I pay $3000 dollars for a leather package and for some wild, inconcievable reason I assumed it would show up with the 1 square foot to cover part of the door. What a nin-kom-poop I was for thinking Toyota would spend another dollar or two to do the job right! Who in their right mind would have been that immersed in the minutia of the car that they questioned this sliver of leather on the door.
Decodog, if you truly caught this before purchase on your own before it got on the web then you are even more detail driven then my engineer-self.
If I recall, even Dianne was caught off guard by cloth showing up on the PMs.
-----------------
I dont know if these are the best deals you can get but it is a start.
The dealership was PACKED but at least I got a chance to test drive it.I don't know...maybe I can do without the amenities of the Limited and just order a Chestnut SR5.....hmmmmmmm?

Thirdsuv: it should come as know surprise that I am an engineer also. A nuclear engineer in fact. I think us analytical types are very keen to these types of details and yes I am a very detail-oriented person. It must have something to with being left-brained. I like your responses to stephanief2's comments and I support you all the way. I think we have made a good case for the heated seats issue and deserve some form of compensation.
Wow! I find your decision to get rid of your LX470 for a Sequoia Limited very interesting. I mean the only obvious advantage to the Sequoia would be size and space but the LX470 is probably the ultimate luxury SUV on the planet. Why are you looking to make this trade? What do you find more appealing about the Sequoia over your LX470? I would be surprised it there were not a few 01 Sequoia Limited owners who would trade you even up for your 99 LX470. I don't have a Limited but I do have a 01 silver sky Sequoia SR-5 4X4 with every available factory option except side air bags (sticker $41710). It also has heated seats with the factory switches and the factory fog lights with factory Tundra dash switch. It has 5000 miles. I live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Want to trade?
With regards to the trade, I just started doing my homework on selling the Lexus, which I intend to do myself(vs. trading in at a dealer). My initial internet research, given the 31K miles and option package, shows I should be able to get $42,500 (I'd probably ask $45K in an ad). But I know from experience that the 470's are short in St. Louis, so I need to look in the paper and call a dealer to check the going prices. I'll let you know. I thought I'd find the Sequoia before advertising the Lexus, since I want a certain color. I have to admit the side airbags are important to me with the kids.
What changes might it have?
Thanks.

The Firestone issue is unrelated to anything with a Bridgestone name on the side. The defective Firestones were built at one plant in the US and most were during a labor walkout. The Japanese built Bridgestones were completely unaffected by this.
My understanding from the Toyota literature was that both the side impact and head airbags are only for front seat passengers. You mentioned that the head airbags are for first and second row passengers. But you also state that the head airbags run from the A pillar to B pillar, which to me means the front seat.
Can anyone comment? Do the side curtain airbags protect rear passengers? If so, that would be a tremendous benefit to me.
My engine has that tapping noise that people reported. I prematurely reported that my truck was o.k. Well, that was when we had a hot spell here in Norther VA. As the temperature dropped, the noise was so apparent. I called Toyota Cust. relation and received only an apology for the noise. Toyota then got a rep at my dealer to contact me to tell me that there is no bulletin for fixes from Toyota. According to him, Toyota said that the noise is normal.
Do LC or Lexus or Tundra have the same problem on their iForce engine?
Well, folks, I would be very much intested in participating in a class-action law suit, if there was one. That's all I have to say about the loud noise problem with my Seq.
If anyone has an idea where I can write to complaint about this, please let me know. I hate to be told to accept a defect.
FWIW, I can tell you for sure that the '02 MB M-class SUV has standard equipment head protection curtain airbags that are for the rear occupants as well (A to C-pillars), as well as rear thorax/torso side impact airbags that deploy from the rear doors (front doors have them too, of course).

following
1. Open the doors and turn the interior lights on as soon as turn the ignition to OFF position ?
2. Automatically arm the system (in about 30 seconds) when all the doors are closed (even if
you don't press the LOCK key in keypad) ?
My Camry does these things and I expected Seq's
security system to behavce in similar manner.
Thanks !
The behavior of a security system in each model is as different, obviously, as the behavior of each of my kids. :>
The SR5 Seq has keyless entry. That isn't the same as an alarm system.

As far as the mpg computer is concerned - I am glad that it is 3 miles per gallon off because I like believing that I am getting better mileage than I am! Ignorance is bliss...especially when it come to mileage in a Sequoia (or any large SUV).
As far as the noise being "normal" I don't get it. If it was normal they would all do it. Let us know the conditions that it comes and goes.
I wonder if this is the kind of thing that can be resolved by a class action suit. Has anyone ever been in on one?
I run 87 octane gas and get about 12.5mpg.
The regular engine noise is quiet and tolerable when idling or cruising. When accelerating, it roars. Some probably like the feel and hear the powerful engine. I'd prefer to feel but not hear it that loudly.
