Looks like there are some bad modulators around, so it's best to test them before reassembling everything. Leave it running for at least 5-10 minutes to test if it is good. I reassembled everything before I realized something's wrong with mine, so I guess I'll have to do it all over again to replace it.
With my kit, I got in the package one additional module called ground loop isolator. It's not mentioned in installation instructions (it comes with it's own instructions). It goes between connector switch plate and FM modulator. Not sure if it is supposed to solve problem of charging device that is connected to the aux port, or something else.
While it was working, it was working sufficiently good (considering it's FM modulator).
There were some reports that it's hard to remove vent panels. I found it very easy to remove vent panels by using 3 thin disposable plastic knifes and a large flat screwdriver. I simply pushed plastic knifes deep where main clips are (fiddling them a bit to get them in) and left them in. That disengaged the clips, and kept them disengaged. Then I used large flat screwdriver to pry off the panel. There's image on this forum (post #39) that shows location of main clips (three on each panel, one on top, two on the side). Even without picture, it is relatively easy to feel with the plastic knife where the clips are. The panel pops out rather abruptly, so be gentle.
Oh, and if you are clumsy as me, and manage to drop any of the tools inside the console cavity... Good luck fishing it out. You'll have to disassemble center console. Removing plastic cover that is around shifter should be sufficient. To remove it, all you need is large flat screwdriver. Just pop it out on one side, than the other. I managed to recover my lost tool without removing the knob from the shifter (I haven't figure out how to remove knob without applying too much force and/or risking to brake something). Don't bother attempting to remove panels on the side, you won't be able to access anything that way.

Any Feed Back would be great.
The local dealer now tells me it's the inherent design of the Veracruz that is causing the poor reception.
BTW: The FM reception is very good.
Thanks in advance!
thanks!

does anyone know the second frequency of Hyundai's Auxiliary Jack/FM Modulator (P/N U8550-00100)? The installation manuals says the "primary" setting is 88.3 MHz, which is occupied in Dubai, but there is a "secondary" frequency which is not mentioned. And the dealer is useless as always, he even denies such a kit exists.
thanks in advance.
thanks for your reply. As a matter of fact, almost all car radios in the UAE go down to 87.4 MHz and frequencies below 88 are free as far as I can say, that's why I'm interested in the second setting.
I tried several external FM modulators that plug into the cigarette lighter, except one, they suck. The only one which works quite nicely is from Griffin, made for the SanDisk "Sansa View". It has a selectable transmitter range of 87.9 - 107.9 MHz, but unfortunately occupies the lighter socket.

it seems I have the same radio, AM/FM/6CDchanger/MP3 and 8 Infinity speakers, but its range goes down to 87.4. Now it makes sense why the SanDisk modulator doesn't work properly, because the antenna is too far away, didn't figure out this one. However, the original Hyundai modulator should not be effected by the location of the antenna at the rear roof top, because it's directly tied into the antenna cable right behind the radio. Theoretically it has an antenna cable with a female plug, excepting the cable coming from the roof, and an extension which plugs into the radio. I will give it a try and install the Hyundai part, and if necessary I might try opening it and tuning it to a free frequency. I let you know how it works out.

I bought my VZ 08 awd limited last april and had the aux jack installed so i can play my ipod in my car( basically its just a fm transmitter) The 09's have a new aux that has the audio output and the usb thing as well. This would go through the stereo and show songs titles and everything instead of going through the radio. I was at the parts place today, getting my car serviced and asked if there is a way to get t his new aux jack in replacement of mine 08 fm transmitter jack.
One guy said no, another yes, another no...
Some guy said it would have to all be completely rewired and everything.... Just wondering if anyone has an 08 and knows about possibly upgrading to the new 09 feature somehow for the ipod, i would love to play my ipod through my stereo without fm radio.. I dont know about anyone else but i think the stereo quality is better than just radio .... maybe its just me though. Also just ordered a cargo tray, they didnt have any in stock but hope to get it soon.
Please let me know about this ipod feature, im not technical or anything, so dont use hard technical words please lol thanks!!!!!

Also the excelleration sux. Has no pickup what's so ever.
Another issue is they show that you can put the front seat down forwards. But you cant. I think its time to call a lawyer.
As far as the "excelleration" is concerned, many folks have commented that the Genesis seems a bit slow simply because it's so smooth and goes about it's business without a lot of fuss and bother. Time a 0-60 run and see how that goes, but don't expect sub 7 seconds.
Does anyone know if an ipod jack can be hard-wired to the stock nav/radio head unit? I'm not interested in a transmitter set up.
Also, is there an easy way to hook up a back-up camera so the nav screen shows the back of the vehicle when in reverse?
I'm hoping maybe the stock unit has some inputs for these items perhaps for 2010 upgrades or something.
Thanks in advance for any feedback on this!
I've been trying for a day now, using different plastic tools, with no success.
Thanks!

I purchased the iSimple Hyundai kit from autotoys.com for a little over $100 and spent 2 hours today installing it. After reading this tread and a few others at other websites I used plastic kitchen knives and a trim removal tool to pull the vent panels off which was a little intimidating at first but eventually I gave it just enough muscle and they popped right off.
It works as advertised and I'm very happy with everything. I drilled a hole in the top of the covered compartment under the audio unit and ran the iPod connection cable through the hole so I can keep the ipod & cable hidden while still accessing them easily.
Great product!
