The word from "above" (aka Edmund's tech wizards) is that the Board Search is being refined. They are hoping to roll out the new Search soon....or at least when they think it is right. :-)
I found this discussion in Aftermarket & Accessories K & N Air Filters - Bolt on Power?. Is this the discussion you were looking for?

I agree with bookitty - you Rock! I just have one question. Why isn't our forum one of the "top ten hot forums". I realize this may be a blessing in disguise, perhaps we don't want a bunch of yahoos finding out about our goldmine?!? Or maybe that's selfish... What are other member's thought's, should we belong on the top ten hot discussions?!?
No, the seats are not power, nor are they heated. Not a problem for me though. I'm happy as can be just the way they are.
YES. that is a sunroof. I found a company out here that could do the sunroof while maintaining the center overhead counsel. If you want a picture, tell me and I will try and post one.
They did a great job although they had to go with a smaller size due to the cross-pillar over the front passengers' heads. It is about 33"x16" I think. Anyway, it looks great and makes the truck seem a lot larger.
my wife teaches at lower south, although your wife may end up having the misfortune of dealing with one of my little devils, I mean darlings someday. There are times my kids could use a good dose of "special" education! Keep an eye on those school closings monday!

Very nice job on the seats. I looked at your pic's, seats look uch better than stock. Wish it could be ordered that way.
Help,
Thinking about putting the nerf bars or step bars on my wifes truck. I guess thats what they are called. 4.7 tire and handleing package and H/D service group, Q/C. Does anyone have any thought on this. Does it look ok. The one's I am thinking about are black. Would like to see a picture if anyone has one. This is a two wheel drive ( 16" tires). Salesman says he is over stock and has to sent some back. Maybe they are not selling. Anyway he is sending them back next week, says he has too many and will give me a deal. Sells for $199. installed and will let me have them for $159.
Have learned a lot from reading everyone's Post.
Will be ordering Fully Load QC, in next couple of weeks.
Would like to know were the Photo's are posted, keep reading about everyone posting photos but can't find them on this website.
Especially interested in any Photos of White QC's, with spray in liners, Covers (prefer High style) and steps.
If anyone wants to send me photos of White QC's in JPEG format that would be great.
Thanks,

According to BOB, it is located near the steering column.
Paraphrasing the BOB;
Not every time but sometimes when I got back in my truck, the seat would be tilted back and would be higher than is comfortable for me. I thought there was something wrong like the door lock thing. What I found out is the seat cover was sliding around when I got out of the truck. It would press the front most button of the power seat up. This caused the seat to raise and tilt back. So now every so often I make sure to slide the fabric back around toward the seat belt.
Anyway here is my ? The original tires are 255/65/15's I dot want to stay with that size due to limited availability so what would be a good alternative? 235/70/15's are within 1/10th of an inch in over-all height as are 275/60/15's. The 235's look a little on the thin side while the 275's are kind wide for the 15X7 ( I think that is what came on it with the ad suspension package) rims. I also though about going with a 255/60/15. They are 3/4 of an inch shorter but they are almost the same size as a well worn 255/65/15 so I dot believe the truck computer would have a hard time with that. Any suggestions???? Thanks
I believe we would all appreciate pics, or at least some more information regarding that beautiful sunroof.
Curious as to which company installed it, what was the price, any problems with it, any leaks, etc.
I wish a sunroof was an option when ordering from dodge.
Thanks,
Bob
I never had that problem in my 92 Dakota so I guess Dodge changed something in the baffles or overall design of the tank.
You saved me a trip to the dealer with my brand new truck:-))

I have been getting a ton of requests on how I had the sunroof installed in my 2001 QC.
Sorry it took so long, I just got back from a skiing trip and had to wait to build the web page where you guys can see all of this.
For information and pictures on the installation of my sunroof, go to this link:

If you missed it, you can see the leather seat upgrade at this link:

Please let me know what you think.
Thanks,

Just a couple of follow-up questions: 1) Do you notice any more noise than b/4 (wind noise, etc.); and 2) Do you have an interior cover for the sunroof to block the incoming sunlight?
Thank you for your compliment.
The wind noise has increased ever-so-slightly. One would have to listen closely at a speed over 40 mph to really notice a difference.
In other words,.you won't notice it unless you are listening for it.
No, there is no interior cover.

Wow! a beautiful truck you have there. That garnet red is sweet. Also liked the "if money was no object" wish list in your profile. I know the feelin'!
What brand is your stone deflector and your vent visors and how are they secured (I'm looking for something which doesn't require tape).

That sunroof of yours is to die for!! If anyone in PA can recommend someone to do that job they'll have at least one customer!
I simply cannot believe that price, however. It looks like a $500.00 job, easy. please get back to us when your ready to let us know what you REALLY paid for it :-} (for 300 I'll drive to VA to have it done!)

It has 3 pieces. The main piece is inserted between the hood and the grill and tightened with the existing screws that hold this assembly together. It is not the easiest thing to install, but not entirely difficult either. The two "eye brows" that go over the headlights DO require the use of velcro tape on the hood. I personally don't have a problem with this but I note your reluctance to use tape. You don't have to install the "eye brows", by the way, and you can in fact order just the center piece.
The Ventvisors DO require the use of tape. I just ordered a set of Weatherflectors that don't require tape: http://www.weathertech.com
Again, I don't have a problem with the tape. It's just that the Ventvisors have a dark tint, which combined with my tinted front windows, tends to increase the blind spot caused by the A Pillar. I've gotten used to this now and I tilt my head more left to right when going around corners, but this is a pain in the _ss. The Weatherflectors have an almost clear tint to them and I've been told they don't cause the same kinds of vision problems the Ventvisors do. I'm supposed to receive them tomorrow, so we'll see!
Thanks for your compliments on my pics btw. I plan to add some more in the next few days that show my Mopar Cold Air Induction system, my new 3" Gibson Single Swept catback, and the reflective safety tape I added to my bed extender to keep from getting rear-ended on dark nights, etc.
Take care.
Yes, the seats are a little lighter than the rest of the interior.
However, they still match pretty well.
The main thought that I keep having is that the improvement in comfort far outweighs any slight matching problems that there might be.
I'm happy!!!

The newest pictures are of my Mopar Cold Air Induction System, Mopar Bed Extender with reflective tape to avoid rear-end collisions at night, and my Gibson Single Sideswept Catback system.
The drumming sound you describe is caused by a vacuum. The rushing air over the open portion of the vehicle creates a vacuum over that opened spot. When there is only one window open, there is no air to "suck" out of the vehicle. That drumming you hear is a vibration caused by the vacuum and it's inability to grasp any air effectively.
There are two ways of getting rid of it:
The first, as you mentioned, is to create another opening in the vehicle to permit free airflow and stop the vibration that I described. Regardless of where it is, sunroof, back sliding rear window, or the rear door windows, a large enough opening would do the job.
The second method, used in most factory sunroofs, is to have a air deflector in front of the sunroof. What this actually does is deflect or disrupt the air flow over the opening in the sunroof so that it [the air] is unable to "seal" around the edges of the opening and create this vacuum that is so disruptive.
In order for this vacuum to exist, air has to evenly flow parallel to the actual opening without foreign objects to create a disturbance in the airflow.
That is why, on most cars and trucks, this drumming sound you describe, or the "vacuum", is not present when the only window open is the driver's side or passenger's side.
Why, you ask??? Because the angle of the "A" pillar, or more importantly, the side, rear-view mirror usually disrupts this air flow enough to eliminate the vacuum.
Unfortunatley, on some of the Dodge trucks, this is not the case.
To answer your question (sorry for the science lesson) yes, the sunroof eliminates that drumming sound when open.
Is there a K&N intake kit for the 4.7 V8???
I have read that the kit for the 5.9 (or 5.2...I can't remember) will work and/or fit on the 4.7.
Is this true??? If so, what do I need to buy?
I would very much like to get an aftermarket kit for my QC 4.7 and I am not sure where to look.
Thanks.
I don't really know if there has been an increase in invoice price or not.
There should be other dealerships in your area, so it may be worthwhile to shop around.
When I ordered my truck, there was an increase in some of the prices, between the time of order and delivery. The difference was something like $250. The dealer absorbed the difference in price.
good luck,
Bob
That's a @#$! move on your dealers part. If you dealt with him in good faith and even gave him a $1000 deposit - then it's not your problem if the dealer was too lazy to know of any "price increase" - yeah right. If he is pulling that kind of crap on you then you have to wonder what kind of service you will be getting from that dealership when the frontline is already trying to screw you. Stick to your guns, #itch and moan, and tell'em now you want it for $100 dollars BELOW invoice. Bobs5 had the right idea, shop around and see what else is available.
