Now all Subaru needs to do is put the Legacy at the top of the performance sedan list.

It gave some good on-road feedback on the 2.5 AVCS engine, which hopefully we'll get here sometime soon.

Patience, grasshopper, patience. We'll know by next year (mid-to-late) whether or not this Autoweek story comes true.
Until then, I'll salivate over a dark blue sedan...

It seems as though the new headlights will indeed be completely different -- kind of like the Legacy-style lights we've seen.
Ken
C&D has a preview ride of the Baja, and R&T has a pix of the new restyled STi—which, BTW, is an image that has been floating around for some time over on the I-Club!
C&D did a long term write up of their long-term WRX. Besides the Subie stuff, there's all sorts of info on all the '03 models in both rags!

VDC AWD
4EAT only
bells and whistles of the Outback VDC
BUT... weighs in at 3,891 lbs. That's 156 lbs heavier than the Outback VDC 3,735 lbs.?

My choice of waiting out for a "Umphier" Legacy appears to have been rained on
The Blitzen6 coughs up only 5hp more and gained 156 lbs more...
What handling improving component did they put in it that weighs 156 lbs.?
-Dave
no cupholders though.

5hp isn't much, but bring it on. The H6 will need a boost when the new Accord arrives. 0-60 in 7 flat, says C&D, with an auto. Altima takes 7.3. The VDC is at least a full second behind that.
Oddly, the Accord outran the TL Type S (!) in that same issue, and by a large margin.
But the GT has smaller diameter tires and the same final drive, for 7% shorter gearing. I bet it would just about match the Altima, as long as those curb weight figures are wrong. It should be a little lighter than the VDC.
If for whatever reason the turbo Forester dissapoints, I'd look at an H6 GT as long as it had a 5 speed (maybe, just maybe Shiftronic).

Not bad for a porky 3480lb car.

It is comfy, drove about 250 miles yesterday and it was like nothing. Very very comfy and the stereo kicks major butt!

It's a complete joy so far!

Hmm, why is tint less safe? I'd think the lamination actually made it more safe, so no broken glass peices fly around. I think Volvo has laminated glass. 3M advertises the stuff on AN.

Ken
Baja gets the tint, but it's also a truck. It may just be to meet all the state requirements for cars, which don't apply to trucks.

Not to be critical, but I already pointed out that in the article that was pointed to as referring to an H6 TT, the text said that the H4 TT was replaced by the H6 NA. Not a TT.
There was never a H6 TT. The article said no such thing!
Okay, I feel better. Sorry if that sounded harsh.

I'd trade my wife for one.
Don't tell her I said that...

I like it! Some may say the headlights look like a RSX, or a MB S-Class. That's fine with me. This is by far the best looking version I've seen to date!
It's clearly an *evolution* of the current oval headlight theme, which is great!

Overall it is an improvement, though.

• As I said, it is an evolution the the current oval headlight theme, thereby *justifying* the concept. If Subaru had abandoned any hint of the oval design, they would have been admitting defeat in terms of design concept. They just improved upon it, IMO.
• Well, the *face* of the vehicle is improved, therefore *saved.*
• Saving face also means saving public embarrassment, a concept that is especially sensitive to Asians.
The problem is, because there are so many good Photoshop artists out there, we won't know if in fact this is the real *face* until Subaru makes some sort of official announcement. I'm crossing my fingers (and toes!).
Bob
I think it's a Photoshop, too, but I'll bet the real one picks up at least some of those cues.

To me, this just further proves that the Legacy doesn't get the attention.
