I purchased a Ford focus DE sedan auto with air. I have 980 miles on it now. I have not been able to get over 13mph in the city. I do however get an honest 29mph on the highway. So far the dealer has not been able to do anything about this. Anybody got any thoughts on this. Thank You boy

My wife and I have owned our car for about 5 months. I have only two concerns, first, it seems to have a slight delay when turning the ignition switch. Sometimes it's 2-3 seconds before the starter actually begins cranking the engine. Second, the car has developed a flutter type noise, when traveling about 45 mph. and gets faster the faster you go. It sounds like there is a loose outside trim panel or body molding. We have not taken it to the dealer for these complaints, they are just minor concerns at this time. I would like to know if anyone else has these same problems.

    Div2,
Thanks for the info on the synthetic fluid for the transmission.

I am now on my third recall and one special service message on my focus. I got the recall on the rear wheel bearings in October, but the dealership didn't get the parts in until December. In the meantime, the passenger side floor board filled with water while sitting in the parking lot. Ford fixed that at the same time as the rear wheel bearings. They had to reseal around the air intake under the cowl. Apparently from other discussions I have read that was due to the previous use of a water soluble sealant. Saturday, December 30, 2000. I got the recall on the a-filler panels that don't have enough padding in them to meet U.S. safety standards as well as a recall to replace the clutch master cylinder and clutch return spring due to faulty parts (00b59). I can't believe I gave up Honda for this. I wonder how many more I am going to get.
