I don't like the cab marker lights, required because of the increased width. Looks like a commercial truck.

I can see how the system will work for slow speed turning with the wheels going in opposite directions. I can also see how it would work changing lanes on a straight freeway, with the wheels going in the same direction. But what happens when you take a curve or ramp at 60 mph. If the wheels steer in the same direction you'll be driving sideways!

That's a good question. I'm not paid enough from GM to figure that one. Hopefully, their engineers are.

Had the Denali in for some warranty work on the tailgate and Onstar. Apparently, the Onstar system's intruder detection goes off and drains the battery until it's completely dead if you don't drive it for two or more consecutive days. So since I was at the GMC dealer, took a look at the new Denali and the C3. Also ran into the sales manager who asked if I was ready to turn in the rado....told him sorry, for trucks I only drive Chevrolet. He had a confused look on his face. Also told him that the C3 has orange peel on the hood and body, something unacceptable to me since MSRP was $39,500. Not to mention that those polished aluminum rims looked horrible.

I think the polished alluminum wheels look great. Couldn't find any orange peel anywhere on the C3 I purchased in May and I did go over it with a fine tooth comb. As for the price, I don't know anyone paying anything close to the $39,500 MSRP. I paid $33,500 for mine and so did a dozen other guys at www.pickuptruck.com forum where there are currently 277 posts. There is know other thread in any of the truck forum discussions regardless of manufacturer that has received as many responses as the one about C3s. This must mean something. If I could have waited on this new quadrastear Denali pickup for 2002, I still would have opted for the one year limited C3 built for 2001. Presently have 2500 miles with absolutley know problems so far, very pleased with this truck.

I was a little disappointed when I got my first up close look at a C3. I think the plastic grille looks kinda cheap. Although no worse than the Silverado. That's the look you get when you put chrome on plastic. Love the interior. Would like to put that in my Sierra. I too like the polished aluminum wheels but still like thew looks of a chrome wheel better. I really like not having to clean around all the lug nuts!

Saw several C3s on dealers lot (Rydell Automotive, Van Nuys Ca.) for $30,500. I'm sure this will deflate any future arguements about the $39,000 price. I paid $33,500 for mine in early May. What do you want to bet after Labor Day you can pick one up for $28,500? Will this change some minds? I'll also bet if you want a Sierra Denali with Quadrasteer (new name for 2002) and are willing to wait another year after it hits the lots, you can get $10,000 off the MSRP. It's already happened to the C3.

We test drove a C-3 yesterday and noticed a definite vibration/shimming after my husband accelerated on the highway......... it was quite noticeable and finally subsided........ is this normal?
The GMC Sierra/Silverado was rated so poorly on reliability and this pickup will probably be our last one. We are finally getting a new one. We still own the 86 Sierra PU but she finally died. We want a nice reliable PU and all the reviews keep saying Tundra......... My husband loved the Denali but he does field work with his spaniels and I can't see a wet spaniel in the back of a Denali but the Sierra C-3 seems to be that compromise.
We are really worried after reading all the problems with the GMC pickups...........Any advice....

Anyone out there?

I know why this site died. Look at the last several posts. Not very ego-boosting for a C3 owner. Mine is black. Custom dual exhaust with 2 3-chamber Flow Masters, 2.5" pipes and chrome tips. Tool Box. Latest, greatest Excort radar detector. Waiting for Bose to put out an aftermarket stereo that is completely compatible with all the gadgets.

This is the greatest vehicle I've ever owned. I love it. After 2 months, I've only washed it once!!! We've had a lot of rain and it has kept it very clean. Maybe the Turtle Wax Supreme helped. Write back!!!

system. You said TWO Flowmasters, so we talking about a true dual exhaust? The reason I ask is because Flowmaster advised against it on my Sierra 1500. Said it reduced the backpressure too much. Working out ok? Sounds like a really nice truck. I had a black '85 that I had bought used and I don't what they used on it. (local detail shop did that Dealers vehicles) But it had such a beautiful finish that even dirty it looked better than most other black vehicles did clean.

Yep. Two Flowmasters. They are welded together and installed on their sides where the old muffler was. I don't know about the lack of back pressure. It works great, sounds great, looks great, and, hopefully, isn't doing any harm. A local race car builder got together with his exhaust guy and came up with the plan. The exhaust guy owns an exhaust shop locally. What does lack of back pressure do? Does it make the engine run poorly, or do damage like burning valves, etc.

lack of back pressure = lack of power on the lowend. You can check if yours is a true dual by looking forward of the mufflers and see if the connect together at the factory pipe or connect directly to the cats, or if the cats are there at all.

I would think that no matter what the installer did, he left the cats and the four 02 sensors intact cause removal would cause a whole can of worms. In fact, I would bet that he connected to the factory exhaust at the SINGLE outlet into two mufflers. This would be ok if the exhausting pipes did not exceed 2.25" in diameter.

Sorry so long - Lots of trips out of town.

2 X Catalytic Converters

4 X O2 Sensors - 1 each, before and after Cats

Original 2.5" pipes from Cats back about 2 feet behind the right Cat, then new pipes (dual) back to 2 Flowmasters. From there, dual pipes out the back (250 Aluminum - I assume 2.5") to two glass-packed chrome tips (for effect?).

The 2.5" pipes behind the mufflers make a couple of bends that reduce them noticably (2.25"?). Will that make a difference (in the positive)?

maximum size for dual exhausts. If you remained at 2.5" you would notice a loss of lowend.

by HP. I think 2.5" is ok in the 300 hp range. I looked but couldn't locate it on Flowmaster website. I have a chart someplace. I've used 2.5" since '90 (5.7's and one 454), but never had a "true dual" system and they definitely have less back pressure.

Does anyone else just love their new truck? I absolutely love to drive it. The Denali seems like it has some really great innovations, but I'm not sure that I would have opted for them. From what I can tell, the wheels aren't nearly as cool, and I don't like the flares. I'm happy.

a whole lot more if didn't bounce, ride like a truck, and if it was 2 ft shorter. All I ever drove was a short bed regular cab for 12 yrs. until '99.
