Since the vehicle is not even at dealership yet, how could it come with wheel locks and pin stripes? These are just extra profit for dealer and will get you absolutely nothing back at trade in. How often do you hear of wheels and tires stolen from a minivan? If so your insurance will cover it.
Why are you accepting a color you really don't want?
I will update as soon as I've signed on the dotted line.
I am interested in this deal, can you let me know the dealer. I am in Los Angeles.
I bought an EX-L (No NAV/RES) on Thursday for $32,900 before tax and registration with no dealer options and 0.9% financing.
There were a LOT of people at the dealership late that night
Honda Cars of Corona
INTERNET SALE PRICE: $29,673.00
you can try your luck
ex-l $32,097 +TTL, just quote it online, and they give me this price.
Saleman was polite and helpful. Car is plain and w/o any pre-installed options. No hassels to get the car.
Thank this forum. I get the dealer info from previous posts.
Mind if I ask when you purchased your 09? How many miles at trade? What did you pay for that one new (pre-tax). I'm asking so I can get a feel for the cost/month for the term.
I can't seem to justify buying used at the moment. New 11 for 34k, trade in 4 yrs for 20k = 14k; or used 08 with 35k miles for 23k, trade in 4 yrs for 10k = 14k. Based on these figures, why not buy new...
May i ask which dealer and sales person you were dealing with?
Told them I wanted it for $37,350 and they came back with $37,500 plus TTl (included wheel locks). I took the deal and picked up the car two days later. The 0.9% financing was icing on the cake. True Car Price Report shows the invoice at $38,371 and dealer cost at $37,550 in my area. Maybe our timing was just good at the end of a slow month.
Hope this helps and good luck!
I really recommend everyone at Bay Area to shop at Steven Creek Honda.
there are some older models (2003 - 2004) with 114k miles no whistles and bells though
as this is my 1st family van i am trying to find the good working model that comes with less problems
Highly appreciate input.
Stay away from used 2006 Odyssey. They have transmission / torque converter problems. The only known fix is a new torque converter for $2k. At 177k miles, you are also looking to rebuild the transmission.
Another known issue is the "active" engine mount failures. Also expensive to replace around $900.
I'd look for a lower mile Odyssey (20-40k mile range) with a factory warranty if you are fixed on Honda.
If you want reliable transportation at a low price look for a used Toyota Sienna ('04-'05). They have no known major mechanical problems.
$29900 (incl des)
$2093 (NJ tax)
$199 (doc)
$7.50 (tire tax)
$384 (NJ reg 4 yrs)
OTD 32583.50
THEY ALSO GAVE ME A FREE IPAD
Can you please let me know the dealer and the agent you dealt with?
Thanks
I found it on http://www.lithia.com/.
Good Luck,
Syam
As an update and clarification to earlier post: Our local Honda service rep tells me replacing the torque converter does not solve the judder problem. Many people are returning after 20k miles with the same issue. :lemon:
I am also looking for buy one from Carey Paul in Snellville.
Do you mind send me your quote with your personal information ?
I think you got best price than i have recevied so far from other dealer.
You can email at tvyas80@gmail.com

Thanks

It seems supply is improving quickly.
when do you guys think the supply of Odysseys will pick up ? or do you think that this is a controlled supply "problem"
Indeed there are limited stocks of Odyssey around.
I wonder if you can help me out please. I am looking for the exact same van. Honda Odyssey EX L with smoky topaz exterior and truffle interior. Your deal seems to be the best there is. And I am willing to drive down from KC to get the van at that price.
Can you please send me any invoice/paperwork, with your name / identifiers blocked out, so that I can use it to get the same price?
Thanks a lot. I appreciate your help and effort.

I started looking at Showcase - went to 4 other dealerships and came back to Showcase Honda. The Showcase guy explained exactly what we were in for by going and trying to find the best price. He assured us his price wouldn't be beat. Other dealerships were offering better deals, but when we went down there - it was nothing more than a bait and switch. "Yeah the price is blah blah blah - when can you come down?"
Then it was Oooohhhhh... I'm sorry I didn't pay attention, the price I gave you was for a manual transmission. or it doesn't include tint - or all the other excuses i got. Especially the..."Well you are already here, lets just do this deal, so you can be done!" OUTRAGEOUS!!! After wasting a day, we went back and talked to the Ex-Chef now Salesman and appologized for ever doubting him. He than appologized to us for the way the other dealerships treated us. Stuck to his same price, open and Honest he calls it. Never once did he give us an "I told you so" Even after we purchased the car, he still follows up with us every few weeks. Plus we exchange recipes! We can't wait to go back for the New owners dinner they have every 2 months. We hope he is cooking.
MSRP: 38,000+ (Dont have the exactly number handy)
Sale price: 36,200
Doc Prep: 55
Sales tax: 2809
TOTAL OTD: $39,064
Our van came with wheel locks, mud guards, cargo tray, roof rails, roof rack - exterior black and interior was grey.
I tried to get them to throw in all season weather mats and although the sales guy and his boss wanted to, the "big boss" refused. He said I had gotten the best deal in months and there was nothing else he was willing to do for me! LOL! Not so sure about getting the "best deal" but I think according to the TMV and the additional accessories, I did good - esp. for southern california. :P
I have an offer for a Smoky Topaz EX L with truffle interior (without any mats etc) for $ 33,611. Should I buy it at this price? A few posts mention a lower price for the EX L but I cannot get this price and this van and color are difficult to find. If anyone has a lower price offer, please let me know.
Thanks for reading and your replies.
Silver Odyssey w/ gray interior EXL w/ RES:
Priced: $34,900
OTD: $38,349
Freebies: wheel locks (I didn't ask for them)
Time at dealership: about 2 hours (only because Alex was doing 2 deals at the same time)
Recommended: ABSOLUTELY! This guy hussled to get that van for us! One dealer told us there were only 5 Silver Odysseys in SoCal area on Saturday. Some dealers said they could trade for it but didn't actually do it. Most said they would notify me when that model and color came in which could be estimated 1 week to 2 months. A few dealers said they didn't have it and that was that.
I did take them up on their 1.9% financing through Honda which is available through September. Really wanted the 0.9% but it seems like you need to buy during Holidays to get that deal.
Overall, not a bad car buying experience since most of the haggling was done on the internet.
Here in NJ, your $33,611 price would be considered a good price these days for EX-L. I recently shopped around (via email) bunch of nearby dealers for EX-L (no options), and I found that $33,600-$33,800 were the good prices. I ended up buying (put down a $500 deposit for end of Aug delivery) from a dealer that offered $33,000 for Smokey Topaz. Not sure why his price is $600+ lower than any other dealers, but I took the plunge. Hopefully there will be no surprises when I go into the dealership to sign the papers and pickup the car.
If you can wait 2-3 months, I'd suggest you wait for the 2012 model when inventory improves and you can negotiate a better price.
