There isn't much difference between the 11 & 12 models.

If your planning to keep it for awhile then it is better to with the 2011 since it is a better price.

When you close the deal try to close at the end of the week or month.

I have heard that you can get the registration your self. Instead of paying the dealership.

Do you how much they were offering the touring 2011 or 2012?

Looking to lease a Odyssey EX-L Nav with a negotiated price of $34500, trade in equity of $3400 + $3500 down payment (total down $6900) brings payment to ~$354 for 39mos, 12K Miles/year. The lease factor is 0.0029. I think the negotiated price is very reasonable and is a good value however I'm not sure if I'm seeing all the charges. When I use Edmunds.com lease calculator I had to add as much as $1000 in fees to come up to the same payment. I got too concerns here:

    1) Lease factor of 0.0029 = interest rate of 6.96%, I have excellent credit rating and am confident I can get Honda's lowest rate. What should my lease factor be?

    2) How much is reasonable for fees?

    Thanks!

    thanks

Hi all, is the only place to get after market accessories at the dealer? Is there a better/cheaper place one could order all weather mats or cargo net equipment? thx.
  • famofx5famofx5 Member Posts: 3
Harrisburg PA, either dealer in town would be able to get you similar pricing on the EX-L, I'm shopping both places right now. I'm actually working on an Touring pricing now and got a 2011 with sticker price of $41840 to $38290 which is probably ~$200 under invoice.

What do you guys think, is $38290 for a 2011 Touring + $178 license fees a good deal? I also got them to throw in roof rails and cross bars.

If you are leasing the Touring 2011 model get a money factor of 0.00155 and 54% residual and 2012, 0.0029 and 61%. One place gave me 0.00195 for a 2012 EX-L model + 61% residual (which I thought was a great deal) while the other gave me 0.0029 and 59% residual for the same model EX-L. This difference in residual and money factor could save me pretty close to $100/mo. in payment or a lot of $ in down payment.

From a large dealer in Dallas, TX.

Prices will vary across cities based on local demand/supply. If you receive a pricing within a couple of hundreds of what you want, just go for it if the color etc. is what you want. Just my 2 cents.

according to TrueCar a 2012 EX-L should be around $33K
  • hwlcdhwlcd Member Posts: 2
according to TrueCar a 2012 Touring is roughly$38.7K depending on where you live.
  • dggodggo Member Posts: 6
Hi, I'm getting both at the same price, though on 2012 I get 2.59% APR vs 1.99 on 2011. OTD about $38K OTD in So Cal/Ventura. Which one should I go for. ALso, does anybody has a better price to share.

    TIA

Purchased a 2011 Touring Elite at $2800 below MSRP in SoCal. Funny thing is we actually wanted a Touring but dealer wouldn't negotiate much because it was the last one on the lot. So we basically got the Elite for $500 over the Touring. Also got .9% financing.
  • dggodggo Member Posts: 6
    Which Dealer.
  • lsccswlsccsw Member Posts: 2
Anyone purchase the Touring in the Milwaukee area? I am just starting the "dance" and received internet pricing offer---$39.8 0n 2011 touring--way too high...and $42.3 on touring elite--yeow. Going for invoice plus destination--any other tips?
  • famofx5famofx5 Member Posts: 3
I just leased a Touring Elite in PA with a negotiated price of $41K + tax out the door + rails and cross bar paid by dealer. Money factor was 0.00155.

    Consumer Reports pricing for Milwaukee
Bottom Line Price Touring $37,273 Elite $39,477
Best Local Price Touring $39,097 Elite $41,351

These were very similar for PA. I would love to be able to get CR's bottom line price for the Touring Elite, I actually got to $200 from bottom line on an EX-L @$33,800 since dealer inventory was a lot higher compared to the Touring.

price looks better than what is being offered in TX. Which dealer, I'll contact and have a night out in NO to boot?

Ok to follow up--I just finished negotiations on the 2012 Odyssey- Touring.
Got it for $38,446--which included $810 destination and $199 service fee (I'm sure all profit for them-but oh well)- plus tax and title. FYI. Happy driving!

    Hey everyone -

Finally pulled the trigger on our Odyssey over the weekend. We bought a 2012 EX-L RES in Smoky Topaz. The dealer did not have one in stock, but had one arriving in a few weeks. Did all of the negotiating via email and am really happy with the way everything turned out. The dealership is Valley Honda in Aurora, IL. Below are the details:

    Base Price: $33,087
    Destination: $810
    Document Fee: $156
    Plates: $194
    Sales Tax (7% IL): $2,384

    Total OTD: $36,631

We also decided to purchase an all-weather accessory package they had. It was $425 and included all-season floor mats, cargo tray, and splash guards. The package saved $10 off of buying the items individually. Since we had such a streamlined experience we didn't haggle on the price of the accessories.

Thought I would post the details here since I have been following this thread over the last several months and it really helped me to get, what I consider, a very good deal.

    Deal above sounds great.

I just purchased a smokey topaz as well. 2011 though, in Northern NJ.

    32,750 - price
    810 - destination
    249 - doc fee
395 - roof rack and rails (installed post purchase)
    88 (2 extra sets of headphones) - 4 total

    34, 292 total plus tax & tags ($399 - 5 year registration fee)

    0.9 for 36 months.

Did not haggle too much on the roof rack and rails as other dealers wanted $522 and $123 each for 2 extra head phones (246 total).

None of the dealers would budge on the doc fee.

Process was pretty painless and sales rep was really good. there were a few mistakes on the paper work, but don't think it intentional.

Closed on a Touring 2012 for 37, 655.32 including destination.

Would like find out what is a good price to pay for the extended warranty i know there are different types but looking for about 100K.

Would appreciate if you would post your paid prices.

Just bought a 2012 EXL-NAV at livermore Honda, for $35340 (with destination) + dealer fee + doc fee + tax. got the car the same time too.

Very easy to work with. Negotiated the price upfront (they matched the price I got from Truecar quotes from other dealer in the area).

Does it worthwhile to buy the Honda care warranty & service package?

We are just in process of buying the 2011 Odyssey EX-L for 31700 (Including Destination Charge)!
I know it's a good price, but still wanted a second opinion...

we are also going to purchase an EX-L. Can you give the dealership name and location? Thanks!
  • anyoneneoanyoneneo Member Posts: 6
We are buying it from Paragon Honda in New York. We originally got an online quote from a dealership in NJ for 32,399. Then we went to Paragon Honda to check if they would beat it. And man, they beat it by 700$!!! And it was not even frustrating at all! all they asked was "How much you want us to beat it by?" :-)

Good luck with your new Car.

2012 EXL-RES for 36K OTD. What do you guys think of this price?
  • nj2012nj2012 Member Posts: 5
i called up Paragon Honda and they said price of 31700 is probably for 2011 ex-L model and not 2012. cannot sell 2012 at that price
  • anyoneneoanyoneneo Member Posts: 6
Well, I got that price for 2012 only :-)
Any ways, do hard negotiation with them. And use 31700 as your target price.
I am very sure that you should get it for that price with very hard negotiation in person!
    Good luck

Could you please share more information?
Which state? Dealship? any other options you might have added?

Is 31700 inclusive of destination charge? I also got a quote for 32,399 from a NJ dealer. In one of the emails i found that 31590 is base price for 2012 EX-L.
810 is dest charge in NJ.
    Thanks

    Yes,
    it was 31700 including Destination.
Plus, they have 75$ documentation fees (Compared to 299$ for NJ dealers)
    Though, though, though...
Eventually we did not buy from them because they SKIMMED us on Financing...
They were aproving us for 12% APR!!! And the finance guy was nothing but marketing guy for Honda Care, etc. So we walked out and just bought for 32,399 from the Honda dealer of NJ with 0.9 APR (Trust me it was very difficult, especially when you know you had an offer for 31700) :-)
Any ways, to sum it up,
    1) Paragon Honda would give you GREAT price and beat any offer you have from other dealer, but at financing time they'll SKIM you!!! (Btw, I have excellent credit)
    2) NJ Dealer - GardenState Honda, was a bit pricier, but were very smooth during financing and final paperwork. No hassle at all!

But hey, when I drove my EX-L out of the showroom, who cares if it was 700$ more! :-)
Good luck to every one and hope you nail the best deal down.

    Regards

Am I missing something here. If you get a better price but they skim you on the financing, and you have excellent credit, can you not refinance a month or two later @ pentagon Federal @ 1.9% ?

That was I was going to do. Let them think they have you on the financing, but then just go refinance it afterwards.

This forum really helped me to get an idea of asking price and successfully negotiated the price of 2012 EX-L with mudguards. Here is the breakdown:

    Price - $31,500 (Including destination) + tax + 250 doc fee

Total Out The Door - $34,000

    Finance: 0.9% for 36 months.
  • nj2012nj2012 Member Posts: 5
Thank you for the info. I will be careful when I go to any of the dealerships.
31700 with destination ( 810 ) is definitely unbelievable - given the sticker prices is 34875 - but that tells you price of the vehicle. (only if one pays cash down !! ha ha !!) Doc fees are 400
32391 is a quote i got over the phone - the reviews of that dealer are bad too.
Another dealer told me , I will beat any other quote !! Now i know how they can do that.!
    Thank you again.

$34999 Included everything but tax, $75 doc fee and license/reg; financed at 2.9% for 60 months. Passed on Honds Care, and had no other fees/add-ons. This is on a 2012 (have to change my username now) and in So Cal, where markup and attitude are not uncommon.
  • anyoneneoanyoneneo Member Posts: 6
    David,
I'm on work Visa, hence it's almost impossible to get approval from a Credit Union :-) and when there's question of 12% APR, I din't want to take chance assuming I'll be aproved by some one after 2 months... I mean what if I'm not?
  • hank93hank93 Member Posts: 1
Just bought 2012 Odyssey EX at central NJ. Visited two dealers, both gave initial price around $30,300 (including destination), i.e, $1K over invoice. I didn't bargain on the asking price, but insist on my trade-in value, which is a reasonable price based on Edmunds. Over all it was an easy process. Got 0.9% finance too. The doc fee is about $200, plus $90 DMV fee and tax.

If you don't have trade-in, I think you can easily knock off another couple of hundred bucks, which will bring the price to about $500 over invoice. Few weeks ago saw a post about hard to bargain at Metro NY area, completely not true. Economy is soft, buyer is king.

we bought a 2011 EX-L at criswell at the end of June. Really no complaints except their push to sell an overpriced service contract. The sales guy was very easy to deal with. The price was in-line with what we found elsewhere.

Looking to find out some outstanding deals (out-the-door) that members have received from Honda dealers in Oregon for 2011 and 2012 Honda Odyssey EX-L. Specific details about dealers you worked with and the out-the-door price you paid would be very beneficial. We are trying to close the deal here but am not getting very far with member's programs (USAA, US News or Costco).

    Just purchased 2012 EXL-RES for 33,500.

I live in No. Virginia but ended up doing business in Upstate NY! Paperwork Fed Ex back and forth overnight... seemless transaction. Sales woman is AMAZING to work with. PM me for name. She drove car to Albany airport to meet/drop off....but I know she also does a lot of business at Burlington,VT airport.

    Price: 33,500 (includes destination)
    Doc fees: 75
    Tax: 1025 (VA)
Honda Care: 1265 (I agreed to to this so I could roll into financing...) rather than go through Hyannis Port Honda....

    1.9% financing for 60 months....

    Happy with transaction!

FYI... tried initially to work with gal in WV (Urse) that others have talked about but found her to be unreliable. Quoted and negotiated with me but would never follow up.

PLEASE provide dealer name, State and City and indicate if you had to pay an additional amount for all add-ons such as wheel locks, pinstripe, cargo net etc.

I am in Northern VA and am looking to buy in next 2 weeks. I want a white w Truffles (interior) with NO add-ons in a EX-L with Nav and do not want to pay more than $99.00 for doc Fee.

It appears that USAA members can buy at invoice which is approx. $34,575 plus dealer processing fee and tax and titling etc. Local dealer processing fees are around $399.00 (ouch). I would anticipate that the dealer add-ons will be waived as to cost.

Please advise as to any tips or if you know of any incentives from manufacute to dealer or loyalty cash incentives. I will pay cash so I am not interested in financing incentives.

I would like to get the remote start, but it is very expensive add-on along with the rear bumper alert which is also an expensive add-on (as after market).

Your advise please. You may also send to: kr5flute@yahoo.com (thanks),
