THREE dollars?? When I signed up a few months ago, they said that after the free 90 day period, you would be charged $1.50 for the months in which you purchased gas. That ALSO included the grocery shopping card too if you chose to use that- $1.50 total.

PS Someone told me that priceline.com was in the news this week?? They didn't know what it was all about though. Hear anything about it?
Then again, end of quarter. Profit warnings. The whole shabazz.
I heard the 90 free trial and $3... I still think it's on their website, too[1][2].
The $1.50 is their "Penalty Fee" for all their penalties (pump more then 5 gallons over, buy a car wash, charge a gallon of milk, ask for a refund, use a different grade of gas, use it at a gas station you weren't approved, etc).

Footnotes:
[1] From Grocery Website:
Members' credit cards or check cards on file will be charged a $3.00 processing fee once per calendar month in months that one or more Requests are accepted on the Gasoline Services Web site or the WebHouse Club groceries Web site.
[2] From Gas Website:
WebHouse Club Members may place unlimited free Requests.
Oh, has there been any noticable increase in junk mail, telephone solitications, or the such?
I read about the $1.50 penalty if you went over your agreed on gallons, but I really thought that when I signed up, the charge was only going to be $1.50 for each month that I bought gas. Maybe I read it wrong. None of it matters now because they've dropped all charges.
Any way we can save some money on gas is okay with me. Thanks.

Can I post at least the opening sentence?
WebHouse Club, the name-your-price grocery and gasoline backed by Priceline.com (Nasdaq: PCLN), will go out of business in 90 days, the company said Thursday.
Just my luck... right?

I JUST received an e-mail from them. Effective IMMEDIATELY our gas/grocery cards have been deactivated! They will be crediting our credit cards for any unused purchases plus an additional amount to compensate us for any savings we may have lost out on.
Very disappointing.

One convenience store station (local ALOHA brand) matches Costco, has Plus grade (89), and accepts cash. Everyone else on Oahu has regular at $1.769 and up, with most in the low $1.80s range.

Due to the above and it's central location, Georgia is a big distribution center.
The state is a transportation gateway. There are major Interstate highways running through it.
They have alot of retail outlets. The more sellers you have; the more competition... and therefore, lower prices.
Whats more, the State has a very low gas tax. Probably as low as Missouri!
* Plenty of supply
* Low transportation costs
* Large competitive retail market
* Undeniably lower State fuel taxes
They all add up the low gasoline prices.

Between 150-155 for 87 octane.
January 1, the 5% gas tax goes back into effect, though. Presumably raising prices ... what... 7 cents a gallon or so?

Did the strategic petroleum reserve pumping have anything to do with it?
Mr. Bubba's BP-Amoco sells $1.32,
Mr. Patel #2 sells $1.31,
Mr Bubba (full service guy), $1.36,
Mr Patel #1 $1.21,
Mr Bubba #1 sells $1.23 and $1.34 (93 octane),
Mr Patel #4 sells $1.19,
Mr Patel #3 sells @$1.23.
Overall, I've noticed a 5%plus decrease in the gas prices since last week.
I do see it as low as 1.419 at the off-brand stations.

Gas stations are allowed to immediately start charging the tax (where as they were allowed to charge tax on their previously purchased tankers of gas until it was used up).
They reduced the tax because alot of people were complaining of the price -- up to over $2.20 a gallon within Chicago City Limits and over $2.00 outside of the city for regular gas. The 5% (I think) tax and a threat of a price gouging investigation brought prices down quite considerably.
They were able to "fund" the gas tax because of 18 million dollars from the tobacco settlement (which I think is wrong in the first place), and the newly implemented tax on Cigs & Liquor.

Costco came in this summer at $1.839 (92). The last three weeks, it went from $1.939 to $1.969 to $1.989. They're still the cheapest, but not by the $0.12-0.15 spread.

As I look out of the parlor windows and into the back grounds and woods beyond, I see a blanket of heavenly snow and more large fluffy flakes floating down from the heavens.
And there's another miracle not far from here... At I20 and hwy 61 at the RaceTrac you can score Regular for $1.17, Plus @ $1.26, Premo @ $1.34.
The Lord works in mysterious ways...
