If you are looking for something to criticize,(a car), this week end, with a lot of time on your hands and nothing better to do, go to the link below. They list the worst cars ever. I disagree on only one, and that is the Dodge Aspen/Volare Station Wagon. I use to own one and it lasted me 10 years and about 120,000 miles and no major problems, before I sold it to someone, who I actually saw driving around in Los Angeles as his work vehicle. It also had lots of power with the largest engine, a 360 cu in engine. In order to get that engine in California however, I had to buy it in Arizona.
Now compare the cars listed, to the Odyssey, which is not listed.

Rockycow says the speedo will read further off than it already does.
As I need a new set of tires any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

I notice that in my 2000 Odyssey EX with the same M tires, that I get little road noise on asphalt roads, which is what most of the roads here are. It is concrete where the noise becomes objectionable. That does indicate to me that the problem is the tires and their tread pattern.
Also where I live I have no need for snow tires so I don't need good snow tires.
Has anyone here looked at aftermarkets DVD/TV combos? I went back and read some post discussing it but not specific recommendations
thanks
B. My guess is you won't find any info on 2003's ahead of time. Most dealers conceal this info in hopes of selling 2002's currently available, especially if there are significant upgrades with little or no increase in price. In fact some dealers will out and out lie in order to make a sale. (as if that's a surprise)
C.You can find trans coolers and other Honda accessories discounted at handa-accessories.com on the web. I am awaiting shipment on an air filter so I cannot comment on their customer service until I get delivery, but it appears that they do have some good discounts on their web site.
MSRP 30,190

Total 30,630.73
Please let me know what you think.
P.S. Is the front passenger lumbar adjustable? That's news to me. I know the driver side is.
Can somebody expand on this! is it normal?, can it be fixed?

I've also had good service with hparts.com
Our decision is to go now with a 2002 EX cloth preferably in blue (I know that we are currently talking June/July for blue, earlier for other colors) or wait for 2003 models (I am assuming October). I have been quoted MSRP in NY Area (Long Island) for 2002. I have another car to bridge the timeframe if we should wait till the fall, so that is not compelling issue (fortunately). We won't keep our 1999 - too much of a problem with the electrical system and the doors specifically. Otherwise, great car.
In earlier posts, some have said that info on 2003 Odyssey is illusive and should remain so. You have also said the features are not likely to change that much. Others have said that the '03 Sienna, rather than the Pilot, is probably the most viable alternative for those looking to keep in a minivan.
So here are my questions (thanks for your help):
1. Any more info on how the 2003 od or sienna will compare to 2002 od? Is the blue likely to add cost to our negotiations?
2. If we want blue, is it better to get the 2002 since new colors in the fall might be delayed?
3. Does the Sienna have the same hideaway 3rd row and other similar features? When would it be available and for how much?
4. What are the 'hidden costs' that would end up adding back in expense (eg. transmission enhancements, even if don't want to tow, throw in features like mud flaps, alternate tires from dealer, etc .I also read all about the honda extended care coverage already, but not sure what internet discount is and how to qualify).
5. What are the likely schedules for the 2003 models and any ideas how to improve availability to get one of the earliest ones?
Thanks again to anyone who can help.
delearship and say " I'd like to Buy a Honda Ody." I only paid MSRP of 27,190, a small $25 processing fee and that was it.
With no haggling over price or features being extra, you just get what you pay for. You don't have to sit in those little cubicles with your life on parade. The only thing I would complain about is the delearship itself. I put my money down, sold another vehicle, for the down, and then they say it was allocated to someone else. So, I ended up waiting three weeks for the vehicle I thought was mine in the first place. The salesman run-around was also a pain. But, what can you do when there is only one Honda delearship in your town. It's either buy locally or go out of state. In the end it was all worth it, also opted for the 7 year, 100,000 mile warranty through Honda which seemed to be the most comprehensive, for the money. Plus, the high country package, which includes, fabric protectant, paint sealer and an undercoating to prevent rust and cold weather damage. Thanks, Happy with my odyssey
Right now we are leaning to buying out our Odyssey's lease and keeping it as it's currently worth about $5,000 CDN more than the buy out plus tax, and has been trouble-free. 2nd most likely option is to buy-out and sell (and pocket the $5,000) and then replace with a leased 03 Ody. If the 03 Sienna turns out to be major step ahead then it will be another option if we sell.
We did have a problem getting an email to him once, but it was a result of a link on their web site that wasn't directed to him. Wish I could be of more help but its been so long I forget all of the details.

A lot of times the dealers make a good profit from these packages and the value you get from them is questionable. That's what Consumers Reports says anyway. I was wondering if they still under coated cars and I see they still do. I was thinking that would help reduce the road noise some people complain about with the Odyssey.
I am new to this forum and need some information, guidance, comments. The vehicle I am seriously considering is a 1998 Honda Odyssey LX with 38,544 miles and sticker price of 16,995. It is also Honda Certified. I am seriously considering buying this vehicle. I originally was considering a 1999 Toyota Sienna until I read about the oil sludge problem in their engines. The Sienna was obviously used and I would have no idea if the oil changes were kept up or if Toyota would cover it if the engine sludged up.
I have read thru the different posts on some Odysseys having transmission problems. But since the vehicle is certified and has the 7yr/100,000miles limited powertrain warranty I should be all right if something goes wrong with the transmission.
Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Andrew
