Does anyone have ANY good web sites for the dodge Pickups?
1) Why does a 3/4-ton pickup weigh approx. 1200 pounds more than a 1/2-ton pickup? Surely it cannot be just the 'beefier' suspension?
2) Do you feel that the new Chevrolet engines with aluminum heads will be as reliable as the infamous 5.7 liter (350 ci) engine of current production? Everyone I know says to stay away from aluminum engines.
3) Can you get the 46mm shocks on the Z71 package as optional equipment (by themselves) on a 2wd Chevy pickup?
I put a K&N air filter on my dodge. It didn't make as much a difference (performance wise) as it did on my mustang. The fuel mileage went up almost a mile per gallon though! Which helped pay the cost ($39) of the filter. After 10000 miles I cleaned it and reinstalled with no problem.

1) Yep, its all in the suspension, tranny, motor....
2) Most all those [non-permissible content removed] vehicles you've been driving have aluminum heads. Biggest issue with aluminum heads on cast iron block is differential coefficient of expansion between the metals, this tends to shear head gaskets... then you have a blown head gasket which leads to overheating and warped heads. Most manufacturers have solved the problem with premium head gaskets but they still crop up.... Toyota v-6 4runners recently announced a recall.
3) Everything I've read about the new z71 package says it is too stiff---Only good for high speed off roading. You can easily add a set of stiff shocks when the old ones wear out. Shocks do not typically effect ride height, only dampening of suspension movement.

Take a look at http://www.classictruckshop.com/
I found it by hitting my search engine with; chevy trucks.
It's only "worth it" to restore if you truly enjoy the process. It seems to be the rare exception to end up with an actual financial gain. The "worth it" is to be able to see the "well broken in" vehicle of interest become a joy to drive and talk about. Good luck and enjoy the pain and suffering along the way to "I did it myself."
I seem to be the only one in my family who can picture my derilict vehicle "all one shiny color and purring."
what exactly do you mean, stanford?
TO KNOW THE WEIGHT AN HORSE POWWER
That depends on your definition of "mid-size". Technically, the only mid-sized pickups have been the Dakota and T100. What size class are you looking at?

The Y2K BUG turned out to be a Cockroach.
Topic #266 in the News conference addresses the Y2K problem. You may find more helpful information there.
I looked for them on the Edmund's page but could only find the afforementioned for the c/k series.
If any one knows the answer please email me at pipelrod@falcon.cc.ukans.edu
Generally speaking, the y2k bug will only cause problems when the computer system does date arithmetic. Motor vehicles do not do date arithmetic and therefore do not have a y2k problem. It's just a scare tactic by people who want to buy used vehicles at rock bottom prices. They figure that if enough people get scared they'll trade in there vehicles for new and y2k compliant ones. Then there will be a glut of used vehicles on the market and prices depressed. It's all a right wing conspiracy. ;-)

Depends on which way you are looking from, but it could be a LEFT wing conspiracy.
Marketing Option Package Discount available after JANUARY 1999
With almost a full load of fuel and myself the beast weighed in at 7060 pounds. That's three and a half tons! Distribution was about 4100 front and 2900 rear.

the s-10 has been totally redesigned since '92. Nothing the same, nothing will fit.
the only truck you cap will fit is that exact body style truck.
I'm thinking of buying an 87 F250 Rollalong...it is a supercab with a 460 and auto trans ,My question is, has anyone got any info on this model? It appears to be aheavy 3/4 ton, but looks like a tonner, having dual rear wheels and massive front hubs. It is apparently some sort of heavy towing rig...Was ford trying to get an insurance rate cut or something by going the f250 route ? How many years was this model produced? any info will be appreciated. Thanks Coaltrain
We've got a new baby in the family and those sideways-facing jump seats aren't gonna work.
Thanks!
i used to own a 97 dodge dakota and the rear seat was forward facing, as are most. i'm not sure about import trucks, but i know that the only truck that have side facing seats was the ford ranger back in 1994.
